Looking over out roster without Odom, there's a glaring need for another big body to add to the Laker roster.

Last night the Lakers experienced Kwame Brown and Andrew Bynum getting into early foul trouble, and the only player off the bench to backup either guy with size is Turiaf.

The Lakers don't need to make a major move, but adding some size won't hurt.

I'd love to get a guy like Danny Fortson or Antonio McDyess with the trade pieces we have.

Other big men I wouldn't mind going after Jamaal Magloire, Melvin Ely, Jason Collins, or Rasho Nesterovic.

I'd love to get a guy like Primoz Brezec from the Bobcats. He'd be perfect for the Triangle offense, because he has a nice back to the basket game, and a smooth jumpshot. He would make up for Mihm not being available.

Rasho's contract is 8 mill per year, for 3 years. I don't know who the Lakers would offer, and it doesn't seem worth it to have a guy like him unless you can give him decent minutes.

Having Bynum, Kwame, and Mihm (who wants to resign)

Trading for Rasho to be a 3rd tier center who has a 3 year contract doesn't seem like the best option. Unless Kwame is a good fit at PF, but then again Vlad Radmonovic, Cook, and Odom all can play PF.

I think Fortson, Ely, Najera, Joe Smith, PJ Brown, might be good choices.

the lakers arent always going to face a 7 foot ogre like Dirk who can shoot from anywhere. It was just a rare mismatch. The main reason the spread was 9 in favor of the mavs

lets get kaman from the clippers: same city and he is dont start at some matchs of the seasso. maybe he is the best option.

i also like david lee from the knicks, but he can play only at PF. on effecience ranking per 48 minutes, he is 5th, and he gaves 9 rebounds and 10 points.

as you know, Pau Gasol was the MVP from the last world cup. He says he wants ot be trade, and he is very big men. Maybe if we send smush and cook to memphis, we could get Gasol.

    Farmar / Vujacic
    Bryant / Evans
    Walton / Radmanovic
Odom / Gasol / Turiaf (Who can play as Center)
    Brown / Bynum

As well, if the Lakers were to acquire Gasol they would probably start him.

Lakers have no shot at Gasol. He's making a lot more money than anyone we could offer if I'm correct.

i believe the lakers signed center Mamadou N’Diaye and 6’11” Marcus Douthit. Where are they now? i say put sasha and shamu in the inactive roster, and put these two in the line-up....

The only big I'd have an interest in that list is Jason Collins. I wouldn't mind throwing a hand out for Bo Outlaw or Marc Jackson. Excellent rebounders, great hustle defenders, and/or Bo is a veteran.

Um, they are not on the roster. They were cut after training camp I believe

The Hawks would take that offer and throw it down the drain. You can't be serious right?

After watching the Dallas game, it's obvious to me we need an athletic wing player. If we make it to the post season, chances are Dallas is one of the teams we face, especially if we get to the second round. The Mavs have a the advantage with Dirk and Josh Howard on the court against us. Lamar Odom can only guard one of those players, and Luke isn't capable of guarding either.

Kwame Brown did a nice job on Dirk, but in a 7 game series Dirk will figure out a way to pick him apart and get Kwame into quick foul trouble. After Kwame goes to the bench we don't have many defensive options available.

It's going to be an issue if we play Phoenix, too. Kwame will have to guard Amare, Odom will guard Marion, and that leaves Luke having to defend Diaw, which is a matchup advantage for Phoenix.

Someone like Donyell Marshall would be a nice fit for us.

^^I think the Suns give just about everyone matchup problems, but I agree that the Lakers could use some more size down low.

Against the Suns wouldn't Luke/Evans on Marion and Odom on Diaw work?

The Mavs have so many different style bigs that they can be hard to defend against no matter what.

    Banger center: Damp
    Long athletic center: Diop
3 point shooting 7 footer: Dirk
Athletic yet strong and capable of shooting 3s: Josh Howard
    3 pt shooter: Croshere
