Does Miami have any shot at AI? I know he wants to play either here or for the Clippers from what I've heard. Is there any chance we cang et him without trading Wright or Udonis?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">New York Times - At least four Western Conference teams remain interested in Allen Iverson, according to several executives in the league: Denver, Memphis, Minnesota, and the Los Angeles Clippers. In the East, Boston and Indiana are interested. Several executives said they believed a deal would come by the end of the week, after the Dec. 14 deadline passes enabling players who signed contracts over the summer to be included, perhaps in a multiteam deal. Executives at two N.B.A. teams with knowledge of the Sixers’ interest said Tuesday that the Sixers were targeting Warriors forward Troy Murphy, as well as guard Jason Richardson.</div> Source No, the Heat haven't shown interest. The only Eastern Conference teams still interested are the Pacers and the Celtics.
Well Stephen A. Smith just said on NBA Shootaround that Miami was interested and I like the trade. Philly would rerceive a top tier PG in Williams..if you disagree just look at his performance since being in Miami. They get a defender in Posey, and as for Walker..dunno what he brings lol. I see AI adapting well in Miami he'd be happy and I think he'd be more of a team player with Wade and Shaq.
There would be an ego clash between Shaq, Wade and AI. Wade and Shaq would need to get their shots. Wade (15-18) Shaq (12-16) and where does that leave AI's 30 shots per game.
I don't know if ego would play a role in the trio, but the Heat don't having pieces to deal to land a player like Iverson. Pablo23, if Antoine Walker can find a way to fire off 12 shots a game, then there's enough shots in there for Iverson to take.
Everyone said that last year but if Iverson can manage to buy into what Pat Riley wants out of this team we will be extremely successful. Dwyane Wade is very unselfish and Shaq can keep them together as well. I think it would work out great but we will have to give up a lot of players.
I really don't see what Miami has to offer that will spark any interest in Billy King. The Sixers are starting a rebuilding phase, and it's obvious they don't want to win now. The Sixers are trying to get some good, young players, expiring contracts, and draft picks. The Heat's offer doesn't really qualify any of those standards. Williams and Posey would be good if we were still trying to contend, but Billy King has made it clear that he wants to blow this team up and start from scratch. With that being said, the only players on the Heat that I think the Sixers would be interested in for Iverson is Dorell Wright and maybe Wayne Simeon. But if the Sixers really want to go for a youth movement, teams like Boston and Denver can offer a lot more (Boston is stacked with young players, Denver has JR Smith and 2 1st round picks in the 07 draft)
Williams is a great veteran PG who can still play. Wright can be another building block along with Iguodala to the young team and Posey gives them that expiring contract. I know JR is playing pretty well but he's playing alongside Melo and a tremendous distributor in Miller so I'm not sold on him being so good.
I can't really see Iverson in a Heat jersey unless the Heat give up Wade or Shaq. If Billy King is dumb enought to trade Iverson without one of them, then he is basically letting the Heat win the East and possibly the finals.
^^That's impossible and BK knows he won't get equal value for Iverson at this point. Riley knows not to trade either of them. Dorrell Wright is probably the most improved player in the league this year and can become a great player alongside Iguodala. Wright is the reason I'm having doubts about making this trade because he and Wade are the maine pieces for life without Shaq.
Yea there is no way the Heat would trade Shaq or Wade for Iverson. I'm sure Phili knows that. The plan would be to get AI along with Wade and Shaq.
No, you guys just don't have the parts to give the Sixers. Billy King is dumb, but he isn't going to take Walker and Wright and hand the champs another star player to pull them out of the L column

Like I said, Boston is stacked with young talent, and Denver has JR Smith (who has probably improved much more than Dorrell Wright) and two mid range first round picks in a very deep draft this year. Miami's first round pick just isn't that attractive. I'm not counting the Heat out or anything, I'm just saying that from the looks of it, Boston and Denver can offer more. Will they be willing to offer more is the question
I could only see Miami as a third team in the Iverson trade maybe to get Korver, but who knows ive seen stranger things.

Why would you want to be saddled with that contract for a guy who is way past his prime and doesen't play due to injury.
