Though, the one thing I like that I saw (which I saw live) was when Bargnani put the ball on the floor, made a couple of moves to get open and made an open jumper. I'd like to see him get the ball in the post more, facing up or not and try his thing there. The one time I saw him drive to the basket, he went baseline past Darko and made a bad pass after leaving his feet and meeting Dwight at the basket.</div> dude cant change his game, he is, what he is.

I'd be happy if he could add some back to the basket stuff to his game but i think we should try and use him in a way that allows him to use his outside range as well as inside moves. <div class="quote_poster">deception Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">dude cant change his game, he is, what he is.</div> I would agree with this somewhat. Aparently Darko used to have more of a finess game but Larry Brown decided he was going to be a banger and didn't really care to develop his natural talents.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting deception:</div><div class="quote_post">dude cant change his game, he is, what he is.</div> I disagree. He may not be a fully developed post player, but sure as hell as more ability downlow than he's been allowed to showcase so far. He's only 21 and has all the physical tools to create a post presence that can complement his great outside shooting. He just needs a competent coach who can look at the long-term goals of this team.

I don't mean that it should become the focus of his game, but he needs some semblance of a post game if he's going to differentiate himself from the Radmonovic's of the NBA. Obviously, his strength will always be his ability to stretch defenses and put the ball on the floor, but rebounding, post game, and post defense are all intertwined and this coaching staff needs to spend a greater time developing that aspect of his game. Right now, we can't put him on the floor without a Bosh or Nesterovic on at the same time, or we'll get abused down low. The goal should be a game that is similar to Dirk's.

Right now, even though he's just 21, he reminds me alot of Vlad Radmonovic. Being able to have the ball in the post doesn't mean you have to bang. Facing up in the post, turning around in the post where he can be given the ball (i.e. Dirk Nowitzki, Rashard Lewis) will add to his game. We've seen instances this season where he's been given the ball in the post and simply turns around and shoots over his opponent, or gets the ball on the block and makes a jab and shoots. Those are the plays I'm reffering to rather than him making long range jumpers. Though, you can't really fault him since he's not the one drawing up the plays. I just hope to see a more all around game in him though instead of seeing him shoot the ball from deep everytime. Obviously this is just his first season and you can't expect everything right away, but I'd like to see more flashses of the parts of his game asides from his jumper.
Did anyone see the suit uros slokar was wearing tonight? Straight out of the sears catalog, what a pimp!! I think we all can agree that Bargnani needs to round out his game. I find when he gets a chance to post up and the 2nd man doesn't come over and steal the ball from him he actually looks decent. The thing i like about him the most is he doesn't seem to care who is guarding him. He'll try and score regardless, problem is he doesn't adjust to their tendencies
Wow, Orlando looked extremely fatigued out there. I know they've been playing a ton of games recently so that probably explains it. Good to see Bargs take it at Darko, to prove that he isn't the next Darko. And Rasho did a great job defending Howard. <div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">"The Orlando Magic have fallen in love with the 3-ball!" (Raptors have 17 3 pt. attempts, as opposed the Magic's 12). "....This ball game is over!" (Still one minute left with at least 2 meaningful possessions).</div> Don't forget: "The Raps should be able to take advantage of this second unit" (Raptors were up big at that point (double digits I think) then that second unit chipped away at the lead to allow the starters to tie the game at half-time)

Fatigue may have been a factor-- we've played a few more games than most this season-- but we were also without Jameer Nelson, Keith Bogans, and Hedo Turkoglu. Two starters and the replacement starter, plus Grant Hill barely played. Still, we shouldn't have played as poorly as we did. At least I had Bargnani in on my fantasy team. I'll take 5-8 from downtown even if it means swallowing 5 turnovers too.
Gotta Agree with Deception on most of his points thus far. But i gotta say, Bargs is definetely looking better in his first year than Dirk in his first year. Bargs seems to be getting confident gradually, give this dude 2 more years in toronto, he will be a killa. Nice game overall, sam did alot things right tonite coaching wise, gotta give him props for the first time this season. BIG WIN. Hopefully Bosh will be back on friday, and sunday... he could take both games... I believe we can win the Atlantic...... Jan's schedule is alot better, in our favor, over 10 games at home, we can take at least 8 of them easily.
<div class="quote_poster">a13x Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Thx, for us they dont' come that often. Raptors comentators were all over Brian Hill for not putting his starters back in the game soon enough, i thought that was pretty crucial for you guys. Rasho did a decent job but i dont' think he had much energy left by the end to contain howard. I know everyone is going to go nuts over Bargnani after this game and he did play well, but Nesterovic is the only reason Dwight Howard didn't completely dismantle us. For a team that is lacking rebounds and an inside presence this guy should be logging consistant minutes, cut back on Garbo or something ... he hasn't been that great. Who was Bargnani being interviewed by after the game?</div> I was scratching my head at the Magic's substitutions all night. Whenever we would bring Redick in with Diener, we would also take Dwight out. I understand spreading the floor, but do we really want to spread the floor for Battie and Darko? They aren't really that good in the low post. Wouldn't it be much more effective to just put them in when Dwight is in? Most games I do question Brian Hill's subs. Even though we have such a good record, I still don't really like what Brian Hill brings to the table as a game planner and coach. He also doesn't really seem to motivate his team very well. I would say the Magic are the Jaguars of the NBA. We beat the good teams, but struggle mightily against the bad teams.(no offense)
andrea had this one drive where he attempted to dunk on dwight and some other guy, i thought that was pretty encouraging for us raptor fans, hes not gona dominate the paint anytime soon. imo he'll be exactly like dirk but with more quickness, he needs to work on his post up and just turn around and shoot over people in the mid range areas tho

For someone who's only purpose on the court is to shoot, Redick sure as hell did a terrible job of it. His misses made me cringe. I wish Joey could have gotten more time. He was a pretty agressive player and scored 11 points in only 16 minutes.

The problem is he's not quick or physical enough to get his shot off in the NBA. Without a screen or something to protect him he can't be of much use right now. Prototypical dukie, great college game, no NBA skills(just kidding). Go Tar-Heels !
