Here's a brief bit of news about the Bulls being interested in Troy. With all the Iverson talk, this isn't getting much publicity, but Murphy is having an off year and isn't looking like he's needed anymore because of the emergence of Biedrins. What do you guys think the W's will get if Murph is moved to the Bulls. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Bu...u?urn=nba,17869
Anything that moves Troy for a shorter contract is a good move IMO, even if the guy does not play at all, because frankly, I dont care for Murphy's game. I was not for signing him, especially for such a large contract because I think that just because he is a walking double double was not a good enough reason...
Supposedly the Bulls are interested in Murphy. Maybe the Warriors can pull off a Murphy/Pietrus for Brown/Deng trade. The Warriors lose some perimeter shooting and one of the team's best perimeter shooters in Pietrus, but they get back an expiring contract and Deng who is still 21 who could fit in with the 20-21 year old core of Ellis and Andris. Also the Warriors will have one less contract to worry about offering this offseason. Trading Pietrus for Deng is better than losing Pietrus for nothing, I think. Then again, I am not sure how much the Bulls value Deng.
I could not see the article, but if it is for Brown and Deng, I would LOVE THAT TRADE! Please Mully.... Brown is even a decent starting PF until Ike can prove he is ready to start and Deng could be a carbon copy of a Shawn Marion or even Pietrus...

I should have given some links... Here is the one talking about the Bulls interest in Murphy: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Bu...,17869#comments In the comments someone noted how maybe the Bulls are at least more willing to deal Deng or Nocioni than Ben Gordon. From that I just thought it would be interesting to see if the Bulls would accept a Murphy and Pietrus for Brown and Deng.

Pietrus is playing his way into asking for a contract that the W's can't afford, since Monta and Beans should be locked up this off-season. Murph just doesn't seem to fit into the W's style and getting Deng and an expiry would be real real nice. Murph could just sag off outside of the lane, grab whatever rebound Wallace can't get to and drop three's all day. However, the Bulls would have a lot of money being sucked by Murph and Wallace, but I think the trade works both ways.
Doubt that trade goes through. I would do it, but the points made about them needing inside scoring presence is true. Maybe they could use Ike, but that will dramatically up the stakes. I would want someone like Thomas in return if we gave up Ike...
You mean trade Murphy (slow feet and fat contract) and Pietrus (low BB iq) for PJ Brown (expiring contract) and Deng (young slashing SF)? In a heart <trade is consummated> beat . Deng would be a good fit with Murphy, so the Bulls may not deal him. It may be Nocioni. I wonder if they trade Thomas for Ike?
Man, no way we get Deng if he's scoring 18ppg and averaging 6 rebounds + assists + above average defense. The worst thing we can say about Deng is he's not that fast and he's not great at the free throw line or shooting a shot beyond 23 feet. Both Pietrus and Marion kill this guy with better athleticism, but Deng is pretty smart about creating his own shot and passing the ball. Even if the assist numbers don't show it, he's got the basketball I.Q. that Duke small forwards Grant Hill and Mike Dunleavy Jr. (back when he was good) and Shane Battier all have. Now if Mike wasn't such a slowpoke laterally and north-south and his shot was on he'd be tolerable. But I like Deng because he's more consistent, more aggressive, and he can score inside when posting up on a guard.

Without Ike ready yet it would be absurd to park Murphy based on a maybe trade. Actually-trading Murphy right now is getting maybe 60% of his possible worth back. As hyped as Deng has been, there is a damn good chance he costs a whole lot more than Pietrus to sign. His "Duke BB IQ" is not a huge factor-he was there just a year and raw when he bailed. Murphy will get the rest of the Nellie renovation process. So far his FG%,3 pt %,Shotblocks and assists are WAY up,yet his rbds are down overall. He's had games with a lot of boards, games where the system had him away from the paint too much. Expected to play a lot of C minutes-Troy did not shed weight. He probably needs to drop about 10 lb,get back a bit of quickness. As is, he does not have a lot of lateral quickness and that hurts his D. If he is a reasonably good defender,an efficient shooter,a plus rebounder,a good interior passer....what's the problem? It is worth a little patience and faith to let nellie and Murphy make it happen.
