One of our portfolio companies was hosting a party at the John Collins Lounge in SF and as I walked out to get some fresh air, I see Baron and a couple of his friends on the side walk talking. I called his name, "Baron!" and he turned around. I shook his hand and told him I love him, love what he's doing for the team, and love his game and he thanked me and went on his way. I also told him to beat Houston and get a triple double...let's see if he can grant my wish. Before heading inside, I told him that it was a pleasure meeting him and the best of luck the rest of the season. I was also drunk off my ass, but yes, it was Baron Davis.
My friend sat behind him in a plane to L.A. last year. He said Baron Davis was a huge guy. No wonder he can post down guards so easily.
<div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Did he have a firm handshake?</div> Yes he did. He was very nice and appreciated my appreciation, even though I was drunk as a skunk.
Yeah, from what I have seen of him on ESPN of some programs showing Baron off the court, he seems to be a very laid-back, easy going guy. BTW a triple double by Baron would be huge tonight. Is TMac out for this game? I sure hope so.
Kensaku!!! Stalk this guy before every game and tell him how much you love him! "You want to have his babies", you hear? We do this for the next 70 games and each round of the playoffs + the finals, we will win a championship! ... or he will file a restraining order and you have to attend AA meetings. Either way it'll kick ass!
That's pretty amazing. I mean, what are the chances you see someone like Baron Davis on the streets? It's usually players like Travis Knight that you bump into. Lol, and it's not like you beg them for autographs, they beg you to take it.
Yeah, because I didn't meet him a second time, they lost to the Suns. HAHAHA. It was very cool meeting him and giving him props. I didn't ask for an autograph...I just don't play that game. I would rather shake his hand and have a conversation with someone like that than simply get their autograph.

I went back to the same place last night and I saw BD again. This time he was with Kalenna Azubuike and Renaldo Major. I didn't bother to say hi to BD since it seemed he was busy talking to girls but I tapped Kalenna on the arm and introduced myself and said to keep up the good work. I didn't say hi to Renaldo though. NBA players stick out like a sore thumb in public places...they're huge! I thought it was cool that BD took the D-League boys out socially...go team spirit!
