Panthers would gladly give a 2nd for Walker to put two great WRs who can catch 90 balls each a year

    2 things will happen.

He'll be traded or he'll come to sense and play out the final year of his contract.

His ACL injury will decrease his value in the open market, so most likely a 2nd or 3rd would be the compensation

I hope he goes. Could probably get a solid defensive player for him. I think they'll trade him as well. I new he wasn't going to be a Packer in 07 but I figured he'd play in 06.

I just don't get why he wants out so bad. He feels Cheated. He wasn't go to get a deal whether Favre said something or not. GB has only redid ONE contract with 2 or more years left on it and that was Favre who already had a SB and a couple MVP's. He wasn't making any threats as well. Mike McKenzie made threats. Came back. Was traded. Grady Jackson as well. Played this year and is now an UFA and can do as he pleases.

I've lost some respect for Walker. I think he's handling this situation the wrong way. He has one more year left on his contract why not finish it. In the end though I hope GB trades him.

Is Walker worried about not having a good QB? I know Favre and Walker had issues and with Favre not knowing if he's coming back, that might be part of his whining. Because I'm sure any good WR wants to play where there is a good QB that can make the throws to him.

Walker would probably prefer not to play with Favre. Read the article and you'll see. He doesn't sound much like a Favre fan himself.

I can see why he woulden't wanna play with Favre(I still agree with what Favre said though) But he has a Damn contract to honor and if he doesn't want to I woulden't mind shipping him out, maybe the steelers would give up there 1st for him? After all they are losing Randle El.

Actually i just relized that his contract is up next year which will cause his stock to drop even more because he could be gone in one year and a team doesnt wanna give up a 2nd round pick if hes gonna be gone next year.

Whoever aquires him would rework a contract with him before he's traded. Like the Eagles did with TO. Like most teams do with most players.

Walker should just play it out its only one more year have a solid year..... well with the uncertainty surrounding the qb position its really kinda of a sick feelin for a wideout i don't really put him at fault but just fulfill your obligations to your team and hop on the train to free agency next year. Because of that horrid acl injury and injury for that matter thats surgically repaired tends to scare off interested teams... so I say come out make your cuts and get your receptions.... if favre is at the helm then he should get enough stasticitcs to raise his market value.... I don't think they'll trade him hes the best receiver on there team thats almost insane unless you can get a lucrative offer which doesnt look like they willl..... thats the excitement of the nfl or in regard to any sport!!!!!! we'll have to just watch

Well, farve did call him out, then he proceeded to get hurt, lose all market value and millions of dollars, and i know farve didnt call out TT to give a contract despite the injury.

I bet if Walker waited tell this year he'd have a new contract. GB has only redid one contract with 2 or more years left on it.

So Javon Walker has a "damn contract to honor." What about the Packers? The Packers cut Antonio Freeman when he wouldn't accept a pay cut. I know some will say that Freeman was on the decline due to injuries, but if a player can't get a raise when he's doing well, then why should he take a pay cut when his skills start to diminish? Why can't the Packers "honor" their side of the contracts? The truth is that NFL contracts are made to be renegotiated. If you bust a players chops for not honoring a contract, then make sure you call out your team when they cut someone before a contract is fullfilled. To do otherwise, is to be a hypocrite.

Maybe Walker wouldn't have gotten a new contract if Farve hadn't stuck his nose in Walker's business, but Walker didn't have a prayer of getting a new contract after Favre opened his yap. I don't understand why you think Walker would have gotten a new contract if he had waited until this year to have his contract "redid." That's pure speculation. Instead, he played, got hurt and saw his marketability tumble. I don't expect the Packers to show Jevon any loyalty.

They've only redid one contract in the history of the franchise with 2 or more years on it. That's Favre who had some MVP's and a SB under his belt. Walker had one good year. Ted Thompson had fans going up to him and saying to hold strong and not redo it. He would never of gotten it. He went about it all wrong because of bad advice from a greedy agent.

Maybe the media shouldn't ask these questions to Favre. He gave an honest opinion. Though I guess when it comes to the NFL lying and saying what you don't feel is the "right" thing to do.

If Walker didn't make his threats last year and put in a productive year then I know he'd probably get a new deal. Even if he got hurt he had a better chance this year than last if you look at the teams history in dealing with these kind of situations. Making threats didn't help his cause either.

    I hope Walker enjoys retirement

I hope walker doesnt get traded or cut. Comes in for last 8 games of this season, and just works as poison in locker room tearing team apart because they would honor his trade request. I hope that poison stays in locker room and is passed from player to player for at least 3-4 years.

I thought it was BS the way they cut Freeman even though he was declining, I don't side with them for doing that at all. Freeman put in alot of good years for the packers and made some of the biggest catches in Packer history, I was practically begging for TT to re-sign him for one more year last season! You should of seen how upset I was recently when the Packers terminated Na'il Digg's contract, I was furious!
