Sources indicated yesterday that the Chicago Bulls are also trying to get into the discussions, along the same lines as Portland. Under this scenario, the Bulls would try to get center/forward Marcus Camby from Denver, while sending veteran P.J. Brown to the 76ers. -- Philadelphia Inquirer # A Portland source said the Blazers have no interest in Nene's $60 million-plus contract, which would drag them into luxury-tax hell for the next several years. Portland also has concerns about his questionable knees. -- Philadelphia Daily News Around the NBA ... # According to league sources, the Nuggets are leading the race for Iverson by working aggressively to meet the demands of Philadelphia, which seeks the salary-cap flexibility provided by expiring contracts of veteran players and the draft picks required to rebuild its roster. From all indications, Philadelphia is more concerned with financial freedom than the raw ability of the players it receives in return for Iverson and his $17.1 million salary. To satisfy the 76ers' desire for as many expiring contracts as possible, league sources said Denver has held trade talks with Dallas regarding forward Austin Croshere ($7.3 million salary) and Portland for Jamaal Magloire ($8.4 million). -- Denver Post # Jerry Stackhouse has some inside information for everybody. The Mavericks guard touched base with Iverson on Thursday morning, just to see how his former teammate in Philadelphia was doing. He's in good spirits," Stackhouse said of Iverson. Philadelphia was exploring other options yesterday, including multiple-team transactions, leading the Celtics to believe Iverson will not wind up in Green. More than one league source confirmed that the Sixers' wish list from the Celtics included some combination of Al Jefferson, Delonte West, Ryan Gomes and Theo Ratliff. Philadelphia has not sought Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Tony Allen or Rajon Rondo, names that appeared in different public speculation -- Boston Herald # Armed with about $2 million (U.S.) in salary cap space and looking to improve an 8-14 team, the Raptors have been making calls for about a week trying to help facilitate a multi-team deal for the recalcitrant Philadelphia 76ers guard. According to sources, Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo has contacted a handful of teams offering his cap space -- and players -- as a conduit for a deal. 6ers got 2 choices...they just need to make a choice already (A.I. with KG) 1. Let A.I. go for a couple good, okay players, and seek some free agents this upcoming summer 2. Get their worth for A.I. I personally think they should slowly rebuild, without A.I., they're not going to have their main scorer and leader, they could go big during the off season and get Greg Ogden.
