Both top 60 of all time. Nash doesn't belong in top 100 all time and doesn't deserve an MVP 3 peat.

Over the past two seasons we have had Joe Johnson, Raja Bell, and Amare Stoudemire unhealthy for our playoff run. If we were healthy last season I have no doubt we win the West and probably the NBA Championship. If you honestly think signing Dampier (who gets dominated by Amare) over Nash was a smart move then you are insane. You have played well but it's not because of Dampier and his $70 million contract. Nash also deserves his two MVPs IMO but that is an entirely different discussion.
I don't consider it a criticism of Dallas, because no team was willing to give him a contract that large at the time. It required some real foresight from Phoenix' front office. But you can't deny, that if they could go back Dallas would spent the money on Nash.
You know, i HATE IT when people hate someone and then start to critizize them. Nash is FAR BETTER than Dampier, no question. Dampier hasn't won anything and that closes the case.

I'm not saying Nash is one of the best PG's ever and he deserves another MVP. But saying that he is good only on the Suns and would not improve other teams is absolutely moronic. As of today, I would say Nash is most deserving of the MVP. The only reason I see him not being deserving is because of the great players he now has around him. 10 games ago I would have said Boozer, but the Jazz play as of late has changed that. And to say that the NBA 'wasted' the MVP honors on Nash is quite ignorant as well....
Steve Nash is to the point guard position what Sylvester Stallone is to slurred, dumb sounding speech - the absolute gold standard.
<div class="quote_poster">Marbire Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> And to say that the NBA 'wasted' the MVP honors on Nash is quite ignorant as well....</div> Nash is not better than Shaq, Kidd or Stockton. For him to get more MVP trophies than any of the legends is a waste IMO. It just doesn't look right when we look at this 20 years from now when Nash has 2+ MVP awards and Shaq has just one and Kidd and Stockton have none. Mavs are a much better team without Nash and Nash would not even be in the MVP discussion if he had been with the Mavs the last couple of years. Nash has done nothing in his career till he signed with Phoenix. People are just trying to make him a legend because he won the awards.
I don't get how people refuse to understand that the MVP isn't awarded strictly for having the most raw talent. Though if you have watched even a couple Suns games in the last couple of years you will know that Nash is not lacking in talent at all. The plays he sets up, the key shots he makes.. it's amazing. But still, that's not all the MVP is about. It's about being the most valuable. Which to me means making the rest of your team better, raising up the other individual players as well as the team as a whole. How anyone can ignore that that is exactly what Nash has done with the Suns is beyond my understanding.
