It has been speculated that Brees is using the Saints as leverage to get more dead presidents from Miami. Allegedly, NO has offered 5 yrs for a total of 40 million. I wonder is Nick using Daunte as leverage against Drew to say we have other options so don't get all high & mighty. After all, Nick & Randy Mueller flew to Birmingham to meet with Brees. Further, I am sure a Dolphins team physician was on board to talk with Dr Andrews who preformed the surgery on Brees. The previous staff would've traded 2 1st round picks and Chambers to the 'skins for Patrick Ramsey.
I think Miami might be taking a serious look at Daunte. Word is that he drove down to Miami to meet with Saban. I think Miami is just going to take whoever offers the better overall deal to them.
Honestly, I am not to crazy about either Brees or Daunte. Yet, each is an upgrade since Dan retired. I am going to trust Nick. Regardless of what happens in FA, The Great Saban will draft Reggie McNeal or Charlie Whitehurst in the 3rd or 4th round.
well floating in the rumor mill is that SD offered him a more substancial contract of 50 million dollars in the green ... but only 2million would be guarenteed due to the fact that the unsureness surrounding that shoulder......
