<div class="quote_poster">Schaddy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I remember last year when Vince was hating on Kobe for taking too many shots, and now Kobe's doing the same thing to Gil [IMG]

You've got to love it; it's simply un-American not to be a hypocrit anymore. [IMG]

I would think, though, that Kobe would have a little more sense. He already has to know how many people dislike him, and to say that after the way he's been critiqued over the course of his career, plus the fact that he's said some things about guys like Shaq and Raja Bell (lol) in the past, well, I guess he didn't think too much before he made those comments.</div>
First of, get your reading straight. Kobe was complaining the amount of free throw Arenas got compare to his whole teams, NOT about the amount of shot he took. Anyway what Kobe did was simply not classic but I understand where all these coming from. After a frustrating, tight game lost, I wouldn't be surprised, especially a competitively guy like Kobe, wouldn't bring something up to discredit his opponent. As for the 2nd comment, I read it 100x times and still can't find anythign wrong with it. Basically what he saying is those shot that Arenas took are bad shot in his opinion, but when he or anyone making those, it becomes unbelievable shot. Is that a compliment or a criticism?

Btw, Kobe got 5 fouls, Phil shouldn't let Kobe guards Arenas. He knows he can't be too aggressive defensively and his team needs him to stay on the court. wtf is with phil again? [IMG]

I think Kobe's mainly upset that Gil gets to the foul line alot. I doubt if Kobe would be as sore if 75% of his points came from the field rather than free throw. I see what Kobe's upset about but who cares, game's over.

Kobe just had a moment of weakness, thats all. He doesnt like the fact that he got upstaged by Arenas in a tough loss at home. Its understandable.

Bingo. I don't think Kobe's comments were anything to brag about, but after coming off of a tight OT loss to the Wizards, you can't just expect Kobe to forget all about that and let it be. Obviously he would have felt some type of resentment considering how close the game was, and being the type of competitive person he is. He was probably just frustrated at the time, and that's all. I'm not trying to back up his comments or anything, but Kobe usually says the right thing, and like All Net said, it was shocking to see these words come out of Kobe's mouth. With that being said, I'm just going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was just frustrated at the moment. After all, it's not like he makes these kind of comments very often

Excuse me, but I think I read this just fine.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Bryant added, "Some of the shots he took tonight, you miss those, they're just terrible shots, just awful. You make them and they're unbelievable shots."</div>

I'd advise against telling me to get my reading right when I made a simple comment to the fact that Bryant said the same things about Gil that Vince famously said, and was critisized for, last season.

I didn't call Kobe a jackass, or anything else. I simply pointed it out. Now if you've got a problem with the fact that these comments are similar to what Vince said, well, I can't really help you there.

Kobe should have whispered in Gilbert's ear 27 times last night ala LeBron James in the playoffs last year.

Gil made some insane shots last night, I remember they were up 2 in OT and he pulls up for a three early in the clock. That took balls.

I think if he is misses and lakers make a run its like. Why are you jacking threes with the game in OT?

Thankfully Gilbert made it and pulled the W for his team. Thats what counts at the end of the game.

Kobe is just bring up points in the game, hopefully he realizes the reason Gilbert got to the line so many times was poor rotation and the fact the lakers were settling for three after three.

Oh well, good game, entertaining, both players gave good performances.

When I replied earlier, it's because there was more to what Kobe said:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You tip your hat and say, 'See you next time,' " Bryant said. "First of all, he shot 27 free throws. We as a team shot 30. Think about that.

"But him individually, it's funny. He doesn't seem to have much of a conscience. I really don't think he does. Some of the shots he took tonight, you miss those, and they're just terrible shots. Awful. You make them and they're unbelievable shots. I don't get a chance to play him much, so I haven't gotten used to that mentality of just chucking it up there. He made some big ones, but I'll be ready next time." </div>

Sounds like a hypocrite to me.

    How Ironic

Kobe chucks up 38-40 shots while getting his 50-60 points along with getting 81 while also going to the line over 20+ times Is ok yet when Arenas does It, It is suddenly a joke?. Complaining about how many FT's he gets. The bad shots Arenas takes.

Of all people to make these comments, Kobe has no right moaning about Arenas taking so many free-throws and the shots he threw up considering Kobe has a history of this.

I respect him as a player but these comments were really stupid to make.</div>

If you sneeze on Kobe its a foul. And your right! Who does he think he is saying that stuff! He throws up crazy shots and gets lucky! It just shows his ignorance.

Well I also think you're ignorant if you think Kobe gets lucky. Neither of them get lucky, that's the whole point.

I don't think anyone has that much skill. He throws up shots 10 ft behind the 3 line and he'll bank it in. Luck is a part of his shots. I'm not saying all his shots are lucky but a lot of those 40 ft shots are lucky.

I'm a Laker hater because you you fans. If you guys made sense when you tried to make a point and don't only say Kobe owns Bell then I would repect you guys.

and YES I know Nash was lucky. He one it the previous year and I wasn't expecting him to win it. But if he din't then LeBron would have because he came in second.
