Well the last 2-3 weeks my stomach has been playing up, I went to the doctor once about it so far, and he brushed it off as a virus, and gave me some Metronide and said that if its still playing up after finishing the meds, then to go back, well my stomach is feeling better, although I still have this uncomfortable feeling right above my left hip (in that region), and it only hit me today after my friend (who is studying as a Personal Trainer) suggested I may have a sports hernia, and now that I think about it, it makes sense. I was at the gym about 3 1/2 weeks ago doing abdominal twists with a medicine ball, and during that I heard a couple of snapping sounds, and about 3-4 days after that is when I started having the trouble with my stomach. I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow.

So I was wondering, have any of you ever had a Hernia or any sort? If so, can you explain to me what it feels like and what kind of symptons you experienced so I can try and compare (I've been worrying myself sick about possibly having colon cancer or somthing).

All I've ever heard about them is that the pain is excruciating.

You can always get a second opinion from a different doctor. Hernias are painful to the point you can't walk around for a day or two. My dad had one, and he was bed ridden for a week.

Hmmmmm... well it doesnt sound like what I have then, I'm not experiencing any pain, just a real uncomfortable feeling in my left abdomen, although my friend said a Sports Hernia, and I'm guessing they arent as painful as Donovan McNabb played 8 weeks of Football with one before finally giving in to it.

yea i had sports hernia when i was like 13. It was the worst pain in the world. I couldnt walk around at all. Every step it felt like somebody stabbing me in the bottom of my stomach. I remember the recovery time wasnt bad though. The thing that sucked the worst was going to the doctor though because its near all ur junk so everything is surfaced around it soo yea u get the picture

My girlfriend has one, hers isn't painful at all. It only sticks out when she is doing heavy lifting....the doctor says eventually she will have to get an operation.

Hmmmm... well I went back to the doctor today, and he said I havent got a Hernia of any sorts, and that its most likely a strained muscle I'm feeling. My stomach problems are most likely coincedental in coming along at the same time.
