For Andre Miller, Joe Smith's expiring contract, and 2 1st round picks More details to follow, just heard this on ESPN's Outside the Lines. EDIT: Link to the official story from ESPN http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2702501
Are kidding ? For real ? Hell yeah. Denver can use the "Isloation" gameplan until Melo returns. Still, backcourt consiting of Melo and AI. Hmm...
I just heard the news......that's a GREAT deal for Denver...God a tandem of A.I. and Melo is just downright atrocious....look out NBA!!!
Iverson is going to love that fast pace, free-style, gunning style they play up in Denver. How long until George Karl and Allen Iverson get into their first coach-player feud?
Another Billy King debacle. Denver ends up giving only one starter for Iverson. Terrible deal for Philly.
I honestly think A.I. won't cause any problems, dude is ready to win and win NOW....God I was hoping he stayed in the east. EDIT lol @ philly, I was thinkin they'd at least get J.R. Smith.....terrible terrible deal if you're a sixers fan.

Durvasa, you took the words out of my mouth This is a good trade for both teams, IMO. Philly get Miller to work with Iguodala and Sam Dalembert; he's the type of 1 who can make young players like that into stars by getting easy buckets. Also, the draft picks give them 3 this year, so they can either overhaul their roster or package a couple of picks to make a run at Oden or Kevin Durant. Denver has to feel good about this; with JR Smith and Melo out, they just got the best instant-offense player in the league to fill the void. Should be very interesting once those youngsters come back, too; there is potential for Melo and AI to butt heads over shots, but they could also become the most dangerous scoring duo in the league. I think this really does benefit both teams nicely.
I guess Carmelo can forget about that scoring title now. Probably Iverson too. So, who's the new favorite to get it: Arenas Kobe Wade Redd LeBron someone else? (forgot Redd, )
Idon't think this trade is bad for Philly at all They get a good point guard to help their young guys They get a expiring contract two first rounders in the deepest draft people say in NBA history It isn't a bad deal for Philly As for Denver, once Melo and JR could back the Nuggets will be right up there with Spurs, Mavs and Suns IMO.
All those arguments that Iverson never got to play with a legitimate star player (offensively) to excuse his offensive inefficiency and lack of winning will be tested now. What kind of numbers does he put up alongside Carmelo? This will be interesting.

Rip off. Bull**** trade for the Sixers. The more I think about it, the more I hate it. This seriously can not be the best offer on the table.
It might be a little rough, at least in the beginning. Miller had chemistry with Denver and playing with Iverson is always an adjustment, especially starting out with one ball-demanding player and playing with another one 15 games later. It could be a very deadly combination. I like the fact Philly got draft picks, but they should have DEMANDED J.R. Smith. I would have made it J.R. or no deal. Denver would have come around eventually. It's not like this is the deadline - Philly had ample time to find the best suitor for their team. It seems like they just rushed to trade him.
im sure bostons trade was better <div class="quote_poster">MrJ Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">It might be a little rough, at least in the beginning. I agree no JR Smith = a bad deal for the sixers. Melo's first game back will be at Toyota Center in '07!!!!
