After seeing how little it actually took the Nuggets to land Iverson, what team is going to regret not landing the Answer? Please explain why. Close to half the league was mentioned in the Iverson Sweepstakes.
Celtics- Need him to make playoffs T-Wolves- Read Celtics Warriors- Might need him later in the season when they are on a huge losing streak or if they don't make the playoffs
^ I agree on every single one of those points, and Hornets, because me and Gameface wanted more action in the Hornets forum
Mavericks - Dirk is not capable of carrying a team to win the title - Terry is one of the league's finest to choke under pressure Mavs could've traded Terry/Devin Harris/Croshere(expiring contract) and a future 1st rounder for AI. AI, Josh Howard and Dirk would be better than the current core and would've helped the Mavs go over the hump and win their first championship.

That and what would have been a couple of game changing 4th quarter shots come to mind. Other than that I thought Terry was decent in the clutch. The Rockets could have used some scoring off the bench. Bonzi, Sura (expiring contract), Juwan Howard, and Alston could have been packaged up for AI. I am sure both parties would have not agreed to do this trade. I like it because T-Mac has back problems that I am sure most of you are aware of.
Um, most definetly the Minnesota Timberwolves. Kevin Garnett wants to win now, and after seeing Iverson being trade to Denver for an expiring contract, 1 starter, and 2 late first round picks, he must not be too happy. Denver traded for Iverson for basically nothing. Minnesota still has their first round pick, and younsters like Randy Foye, Craig Smith, and Rashad McCants. I'm most definetly positive Garnett must be fuming right now. He's probably going to give his organization one last chance, then he will just opt out his contract in 2008. Seriously. Iverson would make a perfect fit in Minnesota. KG wants him there, and the Wolves had all the right pieces to get him, they just didn't act on it.
1. Minnesota - Keeps KG happy, and probably would have made a very formidable duo. Minnesota needs to do something, they aren't in a true rebuilding mode only youth is McCants and Foye, and they don't seem to be a good enough team to compete for anything more than the 8th seed. 2. Miami - I don't know if they even had enough to lure Iverson away, but I think they definitely would have benefited from getting AI. 3. Boston - They might regret it, might not, it might have been a smart choice not to, and just continue rebuilding. So to stop Minnesota and Boston regretting it, Boston should trade Pierce to Minnesota.
Dallas. Because they're my team. No one I talk to thinks we should've traded for him, but considering we almost lost to the Spurs (7 games), struggled with the "Amare-less" Suns, and lost to the Heat, it's pretty obvious we need more help. I'd be willing to trade anyone on that team except Dirk for Iverson.
^wow, you got him there. I don't think I would, especially after seeing what little it took to get him.

The wolves dont have a first round pick in 2007 unless it is top 10 (Cassell-Jaric trade, thanks McHale). They also owe a future first rounder to the Celtics. Minnesota would have to find a third team to do this trade as well because the sixers dont want to touch any of the bad contracts that the wolves would have had to include to make the salaries work. I doubt they also want McCants due to the fact that he is still recovering from knee surgery. I love Iverson and would love it even more if he was teaming with the Ticket, but to give up on entirely on the youth of the team by trading Foye, Smith, and McCants is exactly the type of move that got the wolves into the awful situation they are in now (big contracts, no draft picks)
Celtics - They have to do some changes with their team. Pierce & AI would be better than Melo & AI in my opinion, too. Timberwolves - KG & AI would be a HUGEEEEEE duo. I believe that they could get past the second round with that team. KG is unhappy in T'Wolves anyway, or not ?
I think the clippers will be kicking themselves later this year when there playing the spurs, suns, or mavs in the playoffs. with iverson the clippers could have easily been one of the best teams in the league. Livingston is still young but he really hasnt progressed at all since he's been in the league. i think iverson would have been worth giving him up. i dont get why alot of these teams wont trade youth for a proven all-star who is still a top 2 or 3 player in the game. Theres no garuntee that livingston is going to be a star or even a really good player, and with iverson the clippers have just as good a chance to win a championchip as anyone.

They actually made a better offer for AI, but King didn't want to trade him to Los Angeles.

Maggette/Livingston for AI Kaman Brand Ross Mobley AI 6th man - Cassel Nice line up if you ask me.
Well the only logical reason for Philly to take a worse trade is to retain their own 2007 pick. If they don't suck the rest of this season they lose it.
Actually i probably could blame the clippers because they didnt want to give up livingston when they probably should have. But who knows, maybe livingston will turn into a good player in the next couple years and bring the clippers to the finals that way. i think they would have had a better shot with iverson though...
Chicago. Reason: They're already a decent team. They could've been a very good team with Iverson & Ben Wallace on the same squad. Without Iverson, they're still JUST a decent team.
