I was reading another board earlier today and somebody brought up that the Bobcats are 6-17 and have a shot at getting a very high lottery pick this season. Then I started thinking, if Greg Oden enters this year's draft, how scary would a team with Emeka Okafor and Greg Oden be? Both of those guys are going to be dominant big men and are going to be two of the best players in the league, offensively and defensively. If I were Charlotte, I would just tank this year and try to land Oden because any team with Felton, Morrison, Wallace, Emeka, and Oden scares the **** out of me. For the Magic's sake, maybe it's best off the if the Bobcats start winning some games. I don't want Oden in the East but it seems like that's the most likely destination since the West is so much better all around.
O_O WOW! That is a scary thought...... Lol, you guys think the Magic should start dropping some games?

<div class="quote_poster">Swish15 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Darko and Dwight doesn't sound as beastly if Oden and Emeka are playing right next door. </div> i would've never called Darko beastly to begin with. I think he's still soft. Actually you wanna know what's more scarier than that?? OK, check this out. New York Knicks are probably one of the worst teams in the NBA. If they get that lucky #1 spot, then their pick will go to Chicago. That's right. The Bulls COULD draft Oden. They would have Oden AND Ben Wallace. You wanna talk about scary?? Now that's scary. Talk about never going in the paint again.

<div class="quote_poster">Chuck Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Oden is better offensively than Dwight. Okafor is better defensively than Dwight.</div> Very true. Oden should already be in the NBA. It is so ridiculous how talented he actually is. Okafor is a more aware defender than Dwight. But he's still developing and hasn't had college experience like Okafor and now Oden is getting.
what is also scary is that this would change the face of the game.. you would see less run n gun. With oden and okafor the old school game would be back with posting up and the center controlling the game.. Dirk and other 7 footer shooters would struggle to defend these teams and would have no answer. The spurs are a prime example..when the blazers played them rasheed was soo burned out by duncan and robinson that he had no answer on the offensive end..briant grant also had no answer and if u remember back then he was one of the prime rebounders in the league
<div class="quote_poster">Chuck Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Oden is better offensively than Dwight. I just think Dwight is "less raw" as of now. I would say both are better defensively then Dwight though.
Its gonna take time for Dwight to become a true beast on the offense just because we have a good team around him. He doesnt have to score 20 pts to win or take 15 shots.

Personally, I'm hoping the Knicks completely tank and land the top spot. I'd love for Chicago to land Oden. Talk about a young frontcourt duo with Thomas and Oden. If Thomas develops the way most people think he will and if Oden ends up being as good as advertised, that could be a tremendous duo up front.
Tyrus Thomas, Greg Oden, and Ben Wallace. Damn, there are a lot of different scary scenarios that could be potentially dangerous for the Magic. I would hate if Oden teamed up with Bosh, Emeka, or Big Ben. That would be a nightmare and any one of those combinations would outplay our frontcourt.

people are so hyped about greg oden, personally i dont see what is there to be hyped about??? he hasnt proven anything yet...until he does, he is as good as james augustine to me
And because Oden got injured his left hand is much better.. he shoots free throws better with his left hand then some big guys in the NBA shoot with their strong hand. He didn't do too well against Florida today. He got some blocked shots and boards. But, on offense didn't really get much except a few dunks, but he got doubled or tripled often. And he's still developing.. I'd be amazing if the Bulls could get him!! Get some inside presence along with Big Ben and then Thomas is still developing.
^florida dominated and they will repeat this year...by the way, tyrus thomas is a beast...i hope he becomes great one day (except the games against the magic of course)
