Love Gil, and I'm glad he was the bigger man.

The media love stirring things up. Nice response from Arenas though.

Yeah, Kobe was arrogant. Gilbert is a true player. Kobe is too old for showing off such jealous against Gilbert.
As we can see, Gilbert respects Kobe. I'm pretty sure that Kobe is thinking of those words that he said and he wishes to get 'em back. He is pretty embarresd I think. ;D

OR, he gives a f**k about it and when the Gilbert and Kobe will face up again, he'll score 61 ! [IMG]:D

This didn't matter to Arenas, all he could keep thinking in his head when he responded to the Kobe comments was, "I shot 60 points in your eye".

You do realise that when you lose such a close game you are pissed off and you say things in the heat of the moment?

Gil is an awesome player and shooter...he just showed his class act. In Kobe defense...just stop hating. Kobe is arrogant because he deserves it. He is the best player in the world period and he could say anything he wants, wouldn't you? I would. When Kobe scored 81 pts many players to mention Shaq dowplayed his record...they even said "well when you take x shots you better score 81 pts. anybody could do that" but has any body done it? No. So if you are the best player in the world there is things your going to dislike and your going to say it freely and that's Kobe.

You just can't handle the pressure on situations like that. I think that every basketball player has experienced that kind of moment. I remember when I got fouled out. I went to the referee and said: "But it was a clean block, all of them were." (I got 3 fouls on shooting foul). He answered "Shut up already !" or something and I answered "**** you." And went away. If I think on that situation now, I realize that I acted like a real jerk. But you can't hold your feelings back on clutch situations. We're all humans.

I don't we should look into Kobe's comments too deeply. Like most have already mentioned, including myself, Kobe was just in the heat of things. People forget that Kobe is human, and that yes, even Kobe can get frustrated. But obviously Kobe's comments were nothing to brag about, so I just hope he apologizes and leaves things be.

As we all know, he has had some beefs with players. He enjoys them. He loves to improve himself to everybody.

Whether Kobe apologizes or not, it doesn't really matter to me. Like I said, his comments were made in the heat of the moment. And yes, Kobe is human so yes, Kobe can get frustrated at times (surprise surprise). But if he doesn't apologize, expect the media and all the haters to jump right on him

That we're all only humans. I still like to see the next macuhup when Kobe and Gilbert go eye-to-eye. 61 to 82.

This was a nice response from Gil, but guys, he's not exactly a class act. All his bizarre comments? Missing practices his first year and a half with the Wiz?

He's a fantastic player and is showing maturity, but I wouldn't throw him in the 'class act' bin just yet LOL.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PHOENIX, Dec. 23 -- Washington guard Gilbert Arenas appears to have adopted a new shooting mantra. For the time being, anyway, he said he has stopped saying "hibachi" when his jump shot is in mid-flight even though, as teammate Caron Butler said Friday, "Once he starts saying that, I know it's money."

Now Arenas claims to utter the phrase "quality shots," a tweak at Kobe Bryant's petulant criticism following Arenas's 60-point game against Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers last Sunday.

"Ever since Kobe said I was lucky, I say 'quality shots,' " Arenas said with a grin and a twinkle in his eye after scoring 54 points in the Wizards' 144-139 overtime victory over Phoenix before 18,422 at U.S. Airlines Center on Friday.

"Maybe Kobe would say that was luck. It's luck when you score 30 or 40, but luck can't get you 50 or 60. Every game before the game, I make 10 threes from 10 spots on the court. That's 100 threes."</div>
