Starting to find his feet at this level - albeit Hill's hand has been forced somewhat with injuries to Ray and now Rashard, but Mickael has strung together a few handy games off the bench and looks a real find. Anytime you give up 22/16 to Dampier you're in strife though.
If you are a guard and you can't consistently make shots on the perimeter or have the ball handling skills to penetrate consistently then you are at best a rotation player. I like Gelabale's ability to stay with players on the perimeter and I like that he doesn't make too many mental errors. But from what I heard about this kid for the past two seasons I thought that he would be much more than a good passer and a finisher around the basket on broken plays. W/o Ray and potentially w/o Rashard Gelabale has to prove himself a capable consistent scorer. I don't think that he can do it.
He is a roleplayer at best, anyone who watched him in the Worlds would have seen that, but it is nice to see him contributing so early in his NBA career.
Gelabale helped us win another game last night. The plays he made in the fourth quarter were huge. That dunk, then the block....then he followed up his own miss. Also, the pass he made to Collison for the dunk was key as well. I believe that ocurred in the 4th quarter as well.
