    See it for yourself here.

    1. Suleiman Ali Nashnush (from Libya; 245 cm/8'0?")

In truth he may actually not the tallest basketball player in the world. That record might belong to Turkey's Sultan Kosen (born in 1983) though unable to continue playing due to Gigantism disorders he may well be 8'1" if not more. Doctors cannot verify due to the problem that he can no longer stand up straight. Though none of these guys stand up to the legendary Robert Pershing Wadlow of Alton, Illinois who at only 22 years old died from infections at 8'11" tall. Watch a video of his life here. Also to let you know now it has poor sound quality so turn up your speakers.

Wadlow's record is currently in danger by Leonid Stadnik, a young boy living in the Ukraine who is already 8'4" at around 13 or 14. If he continues to grow, which he naturally will, he may surpass the record given that he does not die too young. Which is the worst part of the disease aside from the attention. Though this goes a bit off topic from basketball it is still interesting to think about.

There's a kid playing for North Carolina Asheville, Kenny George, who stands 7'6, 335lbs. He doesn't need to jump to dunk the ball, but he's not mobile at all.

That was off topic, that's just for world records as he does not actually play in a basketball league. Robert Wadlow played, but only with friends, not in a league. I don't think Leonid can even walk correctly because of his disease.

You may be interested to know that your neighbors Finland used to have one of the tallest men in the world. His name was V?in? Myllyrinne and he stood tall at 248 cm.

I know this kid in my school, he is about 6'4''. He SUCKS! at basketball. The dude can't shoot right, make a layup, and he is proud of himself because he can grab the net. You know how basketball coaches want tall people on his team. So at the try-outs, this dude couldn't make a layup being 6'4''. He couldn't shoot for crap! He was airballing 7 footers. Don't you hate it when tall people suck at basketball. To finish it off, this dude can't touch backboard!! Me being 5'3'' and about a foot shorter than that guy, I would say I have hops because I can get backboard. Man I wish I was his height. I would be dunking!!

    Whatever.

What if G*d made you his height, but with that he made you less athletic and less mobile.

Shorter people are usually quicker/faster and more athletic...they can jump higher.

I know tall people who would give up their height just so they could be quicker for sports such as football, tennis, and swimming.

Exactly right and as I mentioned those very tall people have gigantism and cannot live normal lives and eventually die very young. That's not something to wish you had just because they're tall. Again, look at Robert Wadlow who died the tallest man at only 22 years old. That's really sad.

I didn't even know that. Finlands are our rich neighbours !;D I have always thought that the tallest men's are from Asia or USA or from the south or central Europe, or Africa. Not from Scandinavia or smth.

Aren't Muslims tall/big/strong? Or is that just Phalestinians?

Muslims live in all sorts of nations and people of different nationalities are muslim (Middle East (origin), expanded to Egypt, North Western Africa, Spain, Philippines, India, Western China, etc.)

So I don't think that muslims in general would be tall, there are tall muslims, short muslims, etc.

I don't know if Palestinians are taller/bigger/stronger than average or anything.

That wouldn't be right to say. A person's religion can't basically make them tall. Would it be right if I said aren't christians tall and big? That is sort of stereotyping. Now if you talk about countries that would be fine. Let me give you an example. If you look generally in Africa, when you see African Muslims (not stereotyping), they might be tall or taller than Muslims in Pakistan. Pakistanis are mostly short, below 6'. I would guess about 5'6-5'7. An American-Muslim would probably be taller than a Pakistani-Muslim. It depends on the place you live. Some places Muslims are shorter and in the other places they are taller. I know genes have a lot to do with this, but I think where you live might affect it a little. But no all muslims aren't tall/big/strong.

You don't become tall based on where you're from or your religion, that type of thing just happens. From what I know of it is really likely passed down from family genes even and if your mother and father are around 5'9" they could still have a son at 6'10" or a daughter at 6"5" just for example.
