I heard Daunte wanted out of the Twin Cities. Anybody (Minny fans especially) that can confirm or deny this will be appreciated. Any other thoughts/ideas are also welcome.
I've heard it several times here today. The big problem that Daunte had was that he was promised before last season that there would be renegotiations at the end of the season. Of course, when he requested to meet with people like Wilf, he was denied even a meeting. He showed up and there were no decision makers there, just someone to tell him that there would be no talks. In all fairness to Daunte, his contract is crap. Its worth $110 million - but almost all incentives. He wanted to restructure, had a promise that they would address it after the season, then denied any facetime with anyone who would care. I think Childress came into the middle of the situation, didn't know the history, and saw only one side of the issue.
