I am not exactly thrilled but I trust Saban. Hindsight being 20-20, The last time Miami had an intelligent QB w/ questionable arm strength was Jay F and I'd hate for Beef to have to buy his bags back form Jets1083. LOL. As for Brees, I thought greed was one of the Seven deadly sins. I can't wait until '09 for Miami, to quote Stone Cold Steve Austin, stomp a mud hole in Drew Brees & walk it dry.
If you were in Brees' position you wouldn't want the best deal possible? Granted the Saints organization is a bit of a mess right now, but if the $ was substantially better how can any1 blame him? The only losers in this scenario in my eyes are the Chargers. They're putting their offense in the hands of an untested rookie essentially when they had a chance to resign a borderline probowl QB.
All his friends and associates said Drew should sign w/ Miami. It essentially was a trade off between opportunity & money. Irrational exuberance & Greed, however, is part of the American way. LOL. Drew's wife is named Brittany which explains alot to me. Spears aside; I have my reasons for despising chicks w/ that name.
As long as the Saints dont beat the panthers next year im fine with the signing but i wish Brees would have stayed in the AFC
Drew Brees blew it. He may have gotten a little less money in Miami, but if he had been successful in helping lead them back to glory, then he could have recouped that money. Now, he had signed with a franchise that is total disarray. I thought Brees was capable of seeing the bigger picture better than that.

Do i hear jealousy? lol j/k dudes hey you have daunte and thats not truly a bad deal b/c both players have the talent but are in similar circumstances.... however daunte has been around longer..... and brees has had 2 good yrs? nothing really accomplished yet....
Clearly you Phin's fans wanted Brees over Cpep & now you're venting out your bitterness. In the end I think Brees will continue to be succesful in New Orleans/LA. And Culpepper should be capable of returning to form in Miami. Like I said b4 the only loser here is the team that was too impatient & essentially wasted a 1st round pick.
An article I read on NFL.com stated that Miami closed the Culpepper deal first, which spurred Brees to hastily ink his name on the dotted line with the Saints.

Regardless, Nick was not going to overpay for Drew. In retrospect, Culpepper was a better value & better fit for the Dolphins offensive philosophy.
As someone said before, I think Culpepper going to Miami had alot to do with Saban having success with the scrambling type QB in his days at LSU.
