    Zero 7 - In the Waiting Line - A

Great song, Zero 7 always put out solid atmospheric music. This song is no different and the video really captures the "image of the song" if you understand what I mean. The best way to describe it simply is dark, relaxing and ambiant.

Next song is from a nice CA band who seem to get no love in the US despite their talents and unique blend of several genres. The song is short and nicely written.

That was a great song. I love the country twist to it and the vocals were on point. The video fit the song, perfectly IMO.

Just heard from my sisters room, completely forgot about this song, actually. I figured I'd throw it up.

I know it's generally considered a great song, but I always found it hackneyed and hard to listen to, like most Eagles stuff. I'll give them credit for sounding so amazing live though, and the solo's something to really appreciate.

That was a really good song with a very, very interesting video. I will admit I did like the video though, it was out of the ordinary. Chris Cornell's vocals were on point, as usual. Great voice. The solo was good, the video really fit it. i'll def. check out some more Soundgarden material.

Phil Collins - Another Day in Paradise - B

My God, old days for me when I listen to this. I know a lot of people hate Phil Collins, not a huge fan myself, but really he was a pretty good musician. The beat was done well to make it avoid being too repetitive throughout the song and the video itself was cool for the age of it considering many older vids are crap. This song is just screaming 80's style and well, I'm a fan of plenty of 80's junk. The Cult in particular. Haha! Well, it isn't junk to me. Anyway, I prefered Genenis over Collins' solo career though.

My last recommendation of the night comes from Elbow and I've wanted to put this video up for quite some time. I'm going for it all today, playing my three favorite videos of all-time. Doves - There Goes the Fear, Dredg - Same Ol' Road and now for the finale. Just hate how the song is shortened.

I was jammin' this song full blast in a limo on my way back home from the airport last month. One of the best, if not the best climaxes to any song, ever. The driver was headbangin' and dancin' the whole way to it, I'm surprised we weren't pulled over from his driving. Woot!

The video was awesome, great cartoons. The bouncin' boobs on the chick cracked me up. Very strong ending.

They're actually one of my favorite bands from the '90s and easily the best thing Chris Cornell has ever done.

One of my least favorite songs from the new album. Though a C is pretty good for a "least favorite" song. Here's mine...

    The Divine Comedy - A Lady of A Certain Age - A

Some of the best lyrics I've heard since Venus' Vertigone album. Most notably in the chorus. Very relaxing and well written musically as well. Surprisingly I don't know much of the Divine Comedy, but surely I will in the coming months. Thanks, Sasha.

My next song .. I made the video myself. lol

So here it is plain and simple .. for me personally, the greatest written song lyrically and quite possibly musically of all-time. I love the story that is "told." One of the hidden gems of the music world. Set between John Barry and the Jewish Folkore along with the full Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles, Venus played a sold-out show in Brussels.

Lead violin and upright bass by band members Christian Schreuers and Pierre Jacqmin, respectively. From their album The Man Who Was Already Dead, which I hold in high regard as the greatest album of all-time. A simple "video" that showcases the lyrics.

    Venus - White Star Line

Soooo damn beautiful. The song, not the video. lol

The music was ABSOLUTELY beautiful, some of the more finer music that has ever graced my ears. The lyrics were awesome, although I'm not to fond of the singer's voice. Such an emotion packed song, I've listened to it 5 times today.

This song holds a very special place in my heart, as it was one of the 16 songs on repeat at my grandmother's wake, she absolutely loved him. This song brings a tear to my eye every single time I listen to it. Absolutely amazing song for me, personally. (the video is off with the singing)

    March 6, 2006.

She got sick in August of 2005, she needed a valve replacement in her heart, and she got the operation. At the beginning of February of 2006 (the last time I ever saw her, I was supposed to go visit her in the hospital the day that she passed) she came over and cooked a traditional Arabic meal for my family celebrating my dad's birthday, well that night she got really sick. She went to the doctor and they told her it was just pneumonia...they didn't even check her heart. It continuted for about two weeks, and she went back...told her it was a yeast infection...didn't check her heart...this whole time not even thinking about her surgery just a few month before. Well, about February 17...she checked herself into the hospital...and they finally checked her heart. The valve they replaced had gotten infected...and they kept her in a hospital bed. Towards the end of February, she was really sick. She would get violently cold...and then violently warm. This whole time, the doctor's were still examining her. Finally...at the beginning of March..I believe March 2nd...they had her set up for another operation (prior to this, they transported her hospitals). March 6, a day before he surgery, after fighting bacteria flowing through her blood for almost two months, she couldn't fight anymore, and passed.

Basically...the doctor's let her lay in a hospital bed for almost a month with bacteria pumping through her body. When you're older, your body can only take so much.

Needless to say, we have a very strong case against the doctor. I wouldn't like to get into that, though.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, if I may ask, what kind of cancer? I had an aunt pass from breast cancer and another woman who is like an Aunt to me is fighting a very serious bout of breast cancer.

Great song, and a great voice. The only thing I didn't like is how he sings it. Sing. Stop. Sing. Stop. It got a little irritating. One of the few Bee Gees songs I like.

It was definitely unique. It got kind of repetitive after a while though. Not really something I would listen to, to each his own. Sounded kinda trippy.

The original is the best version of this song, and although the Tina Turner version slightly alters my perception of the tune every time I hear it, I've gotten more and more back to appreciating it as a CCR song over time. That's why bands/singers shouldn't cover songs - it really changes the way you look at the original. CCR is mad underrated though. I've always been kind of surprised you like them, being good 'ol southern-style rock and all. It's a great culture/genre though. Bands like Lynard Skynard, the Allman Brothers, and, of course, CCR, make me long for the days back home in the south.
