I'll let someone else rate Three Days Grace, but I personally do not like them very much. Just another mainstream band that has been overexposed in Canada to me. A few catchy songs here and there, but nothing too spectacular or out of the norm for these guys when I'm listening to them. Just another band is what pops up in my head when I listen to 'em.
I shudder at the thought of Three Days Grace. I remember one time way back they tried saying BS that they were more original then dredg as a publicity stunt. I'll have to skip it too and let someone else who may like it a chance to see it.
Three Days Grade - I pretty much echo everyone else's sentiments so far. They're really not musicians but rather a carefully marketed group of powerchord-playing novices geared towards emotionally frustrated tweens. New Song: Air - Alone in Kyoto Invalid Video Link
A Beautiful. Though, songs like that to be really effective to me should be longer or at least reach a climax sooner. Great movie too. Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere But Not Here Invalid Video Link Ignore the backup vocals in the beginning of the video if for a minute. They sound horrible, I know. It's totally different on the album, where that voice is droned out by the music.
A (I guess I'm back grading again ) Amazing... saw a little Mr. Bungle in them... a lot of dredg. I think M might like thast band. I'm not really that up-to-date with the modern prog scene, so thanks for introducing me to these guys. New Song: Invalid Video Link
A Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. That's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Plus, it was at the Tabernacle, great venue. I did some research and Danny Carey (the drummer from Tool, and my idol) is supposedly really good friends with those guys. So here's hoping they jam together, specifically their kickasss drummer on the band's Triad song. It's happened with the drummer from Meshuggah, and Mike Patton before so anything is possible. *crosses fingers* My next one is from the pioneers of psychadelic rock, Amon Dull II... A I'm actually a big Amon D??l II fan. They were really one of the first psychedelic rock bands that was technically proficient as well as trippy. I really think they can be given some credit as a heavy influence in progressive rock and it's origins as well with the atypical dynamics of all of their songs. That was pretty new for the time period. New song: My Morning Jacket - One Big Holiday (even if you don't rate this, Mamba, you gotta check it out, because the guitar in it is like a direct rip from Frusciante, so you might like it) Invalid Video Link
B It was good and I can definitely see the Johnny rip, I didn't watch the video and focused on the guitar and I def. felt that. Do you like the band? What are some good songs by them? Let me find a song.
D I hate that guys voice. Just another alt-rock-angst band for me to ignore. The only thing I like by Fuel is their first record, and only about three or four songs off of that as well. Sorry, just not a big fan. As for My Morning Jacket, here are some of my favorites by them, to go along with VC's... I Needed It Most At Dawn I Will Be There When You Die It Beats 4 U Great band. Anyways, here's mine... Invalid Video Link
Collarbone - A It was a funky little ditty, but the real reason I'm giving it an A is because of that video... love the concept and really didn't see it taking the twist it did when the army started slaughtering all the animals... very creative and funny. New Song: One of my alltime favorite bands... I know the video doesn't go with the psychedelic themed song, but oh well, that's Youtube for you... Strawberry Alarm Clock - Birds In My Tree Invalid Video Link
So now we're back to the ratings? lol Strawberry Alarm Clock - Birds In My Tree - B Nice simple tune. Good flowing instrumentation, not too long to drown it out like some bands that will take a beat like that and just go on and on. A little guitar pick up in there to send it off was appreciated. Another plus for me is the singer being very clear. I think the person who made the video got a little confused with the era in which that music actually comes from. lol New song is from Girls in Hawaii - Casper Invalid Video Link Another Belgian band, good friends of Venus. Indie Pop with a dark tone.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">So now we're back to the ratings? lol</div> Yeah, that didn't last very long. Casper - B Wow, their English is really good for a group from Belgium. I didn't like this song in particular that much, but they sounded like a band I'd like to hear more from. This song in particular just didn't strike a chord with me; I didn't pick up on any of the emotion of it at all for some reason, although I'm sure it's there for some people. New Song: Radiohead - There, there I saw them do this song live, and it was the best song of their set. They're amazing musicians; one of my three or four favorite bands active today. Well, I noticed most groups from Belgium speak near perfect English. A lot of bands and artists from that country are very unique. I just never noticed until I discovered Venus years ago.

F I've been way too overexposed to Saliva, because they're from my town. I bet Sasha's heard his fill too. They were okay on their first album, but everything after that was just trash, and I see a few of their band members around here and there at parties, clubs, and whatnot (particularly Josey Scott and Paul Crosby), and they're all grade-A douchebags. BTW - Legacy, could you please provide an explanation with your grades? We do it a bit differently from the hip-hop forum. There are 4 rock songs that I have on my iPod: Three days Grace- Riot and Animal I have become, Papa Roach- To be Loved, and Saliva- Ladies and Gentlemen. Are these Alternative or Metal? I haven't heard of Pearl Jam.
