Poor Sasha got completely skipped over with his 7/7/07 drumming video. I also think it's sort of funny how people are so close minded with their musical tastes. Expand your horizons everyone! C'mon C'mon - B+ I don't like pretty much anything else from these guys, but "C'mon, C'mon" is catchy as hell. One of the things I don't like about it though is how commercial it's become. A+ Which brings to mind a very sinister minister kind of guy a man named Little Richard born to make them bitches stir that's right he'll make the sweet substance drip from the middle of your hillbilly lips and like the farmer milk his cow the Howling Wolf will howl and since times does allow you all can Take me to your backwoods now That came to mind when I first heard this song, since it predates it. I love this song though. I've seen these guys play live going on four times now. I've never been a huge fan of Victor Wooten, but I've always respected his abilities, much in the way I don't like Van Halen but will acknowledge his greatness. Flea's not as fast as Wooten I don't think, but that's overrated, he's more skilled and a much better song writer. He's a million times more creative and original than Wooten too. B Had a bluesy feel to it, liked it a lot. The video was full of awesome imagery that fit the song, as well. Staind - How About You Invalid Video Link I know that I'm like of the few die hard Staind fan here, so I can take if someone shreds the song. I just love their music and their live shows are amazing. The video quality isn't the best, either. Song sounds so much better on the CD and live.
Staind - How About You - C- I don't like to knock on Staind for vocals, just because I've seen them live. Unlike (about 95%) of media friendly bands/artists, Aaron actually sounds the same in person. The guitar work is always very similar and downtuned so much that when they try to get a downplayed rythem going it fails ever so miserably. The bass especially, you can't downtune a bass more then one level otherwise the strings become too loose, sound poor and then the instrument basically has no purpose. The song itself is alright, it has the basic nu-metal feel. I really enjoyed Staind's first album though, with my favorite tracks on there being "Raw" and "Suffocate." New song is from VAST (Visual Audio Sensory Theater) - Touched Invalid Video Link My favorite song of 1998. One of the most underrated bands and vocalists today. I've always enjoyed how Crosby took the grunge and industrial genres and totally revamped them by combining elements with nice effects, acoustic work and sampling.
B- The vocals with about 2:50 left were pretty cool, the music was good, vocals were on point. Something missing though, just can't put my finger on it. More coffee shop music from me. I don't know, I've grown used to their music working at Starbucks, I wouldn't give it an A, but not lower than a C.
B Nothing special really about it, but it was sort of catchy. I wouldn't coffee shop music though. It's more alternative rock than that. BTW - That song M just recommended, amazing! B+ This song's really overplayed to a fault. Some songs I can tolerate being played over and over again (like, say "Come Together" by the Beatles), but not this one. The Lips have a much better catalogue out there. The Soft Bulletin is one of the best cd's in my collection. They're really horrible musicians individually, but they're all incredibly creative and great song writers, and they put on a hell of a live show. Incubus - Circles - C+ The opening to the song is typical, not bad though. The little drop more then half way through was expected and at first I liked that little flute effect they added, but it was immediately killed when it was scratched. I actually laughed at that moment. Pretty average song by my book. It has nothing particularly amazing about it, as with most of their work, but it brings you an adrenaline rush if you're looking for that type of sound atm and a little extra. I like much of the guitar work here. I don't hate this band actually, I have their first two albums. New song is actually old, by Massive Attack - Tear Drop Invalid Video Link These guys actually were part of the reason I got into more downplayed music from the start along with Coldplay and some others in the mid-late 90's. I remember Incubus' singer commenting about this song a while back saying it is one of the best songs ever created and it is. He wished his band would've originally created it. That's some nice praise for an excellent song which stands up there as one of the best ever created. Also, still widely used today. Then to add to that, there is a great video as well.

Massive Attack Feat. Mos Def - I Against I - A+ Niiiice!! Crazy song right there, I absolutely love this one. The beat itself is dark and then you add the effects that make you feel like you're in another World. Something I like to chill out to or blast in my car anytime. Mos Def is one of my favorite rappers as well. Nothing much else to write, I just love this song. On a side note, Mos Def is hilarious in the book to film adaption of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. New song is from Sharko - Sweet Protection Invalid Video Link Holy crap! New Sharko release. Woot! Well, it isn't new anymore, but I wasn't aware they released a new album until now. They always have great videos. Yet another amazing Belgian band, my friends.
