Now that Daunte's gone how will the Vikings handle the Qb situation? I hope that they decide to get one in the draft and not in free agency. Brad Johnson will do fine for atleast 2 season.
I think they are going to make a push for McCown and look for a 2nd round QB as well. I don't think these guys are the type that would give up draft picks to move up for a QB. My ultimate hope is that someone we were able to orchestrate something to get Leinert. I really like him as a QB and think he could be a Carson Palmer like QB someday. Unfortunately I do not think that it is a realistic expectation.
Ok....so Wilf made this comment: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"I think it'll help us build for our future," he said. "The second round, in today's world, is equivalent to a first-round (pick)."</div> Sounds like someone is regretting the fact that he lost his franchise QB
We probably have to give up prett much all of our draft picks to get up to #2 spot and I don't think that will happen. We can find a decent in the 2nd round. Charlie Whitehurst would be a good pick in the 51st pick.
I'm liking the idea of Omar Jacobs myself. I think if we use the picks wisely we could come out with a decent draft. That being said, I really think that this ownership group has FUBARed the Vikings. I can't blame them for the Moss trade, but everything else that is happening is just making me sick.

A lot of people think he's a scrambler when he's pure pocket passer. 4.88 40 yard dash. Definately not a scrambler. He's probably going to go in round 3. Whether it be early or mid is the question Minnesota would have to think about. Brodie Croyle seems to the consensus #4 QB in this draft. He's got good height at just under 6-3 and he's around 205. If he adds some weight he'll be fine in my opinion. The only concern I have with him is his injury concerns. Michael Smith of ESPN reported that the Vikings are pursuing Matt Schaub in a trade.
I'd be happy with Shaub. I actually don't want a scrambler, I want a quality pocket passer. Since Childress decided to go with the WCO, it would be nice to have a QB who can make quick reads and get rid of the ball quickly. Culpepper never really did that, but he also was playing in a 'stretch the field' system.
