<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> HOUSTON -- Yao Ming will miss at least six weeks after fracturing the bone under his right knee in Houston's game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night. Yao was leaping for a blocked shot as Chuck Hayes and Tim Thomas hit the floor beneath him. Yao's knee appeared to get caught under Thomas' body and Yao immediately grabbed his knee and screamed in pain. Yao was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, where an MRI test revealed a fracture on Yao's right tibial plateau, trainer Keith Jones said. </div> link
a recurring nightmare, seems he won't be able to play for us bf ASG. first T mac, then Yao, they all knocked down now Bad news for rockets is going to suffer another season stopping right out of the playoff. Good news for our bench, JVG now has to turn to their help and practise them more than his willings. i dunno how much chance of getting Oden or picking a first round draft like Gay this yr (if we hav) sorry, maybe i am too pessimistic;believe or not,we are cursed
Wow, many injuries this year to big players who make impacts to teams. Rockets: Yao and T-Mac Nets: Nenad Krstic Raptors: Chris Bosh Celtics: Paul Pierce Sonics: Rashard Lewis Without Yao and T-Mac this will help the Warriors get ahead in the playoff race, that is if they are winning.
Wow, tough blow for the Rockets, at least its not a season ending injury like Nenad Krstic got. Big men who've gotten knee injuries this year: Bosh Nenad Krstic Shaq Yao

Wells seems to be stepping back into his game, and should be able to help carry some of the offensive burden left behind by Yao. Which, by the way, was on of the reasons we signed him- to help bolster our offense when one of our stars goes down. Plus, overall I think we're a better scoring team as compared to last season, since we've now got Lucas and Wells who seem to be pretty consistent scorers. Not to mention Head seems to be much more solid this time around. There's pretty much no chance of us getting Oden, we'd have to pretty much drop most of the games from here on out for that to happen, and I definitely don't want to see that. You see, if our role players can hold it down until McGrady comes back, we should be fine playoff wise. Because a couple weeks after that, Yao will be back as well, and ready to make noise in the playoffs.

(Small league).
Damn man! Terrible for us! This is like a repeat of last year. Tmac goes down, Yao goes down, Rockets go down. If Tmac dont return quick enough, our season is over. Tmac was playing great in his first year with the Rockets, then he has back spasms. He wont be the same anymore and he definitely won't ever play like he used to play. So with that being said, I dont think Rockets will ever be as good as they used to be unless somehow McGrady gets going again with his injury to his back. Yao last year has foot injuries, Rockets suffer big without him and McGrady and dont make the playoffs. This is just like a repeat of last year, and if Tmac dont come back fast enough, Rockets aren't going to make the playoffs again. Yao is out for 6 weeks, atleast 6 weeks. The way he came down and was screaming in pain, I think this has to be a sever injury. A bruised knee was the best thing we could've asked for because things could've been worse. Now both Yao and Tmac are out at the same time like last season. We barely won any games without those two. This is like a repeat of last season. I just have a weird feeling Rockets won't make the playoffs again. But that's only if Tmac's injury cost him more games. These friggin injuries are killing us!! We had them all last season, and I was praying we won't have them again this season, because if we did, our season would've been over. All we can now do is wish for Yao to recover quickly and Tmac to get his back good. We need both of them strong and healthy for us to make the playoffs and we need them to go deep in the playoffs. But if we keep on having these injuries, Rockets aren't going anywhere. Lets just hope that both of them recover fast and come back quick enough to save the Rockets from losing too many games. GO ROCKETS!
I was at the game and almost cried. Not having a 3rd center will hurt the team now. I hope TMac is ready
It's actually a good thing this is happening right now rather than a couple weeks from now. There won't be many games until after new years so that's a couple fewer games to play while Yao is out, and a couple fewer games to play while TMac rests his back. Hopefully the new year rolls around and TMac's back is ready to go.

I try to watch every game, but when I miss one something crazy alwayz happens. When I picked up the paper this morning and saw Yao on the ground in pain, I almost cried Since you guys saw the game, how bad was it? Was it something that might hinder his whole career? Similar to Sabonis's injury? I hope not. The Rockets will have to change their whole style of play. Bonzi will have to start now.
Everyone CHILL. T-Mac will be back soon and he even admits that this season he has played the way he has played because Yao is a dominant force now and he no longer needs to go out and score 30 points. Well now Yao is out and Tracy is soon to be ready to step into the fire. I believe Mcgrady will have enough in him to help us Win at least 12-13 of the games during the time Yao is out. Also if this turns out to be a lost season it may not be so bad. Look at the lottery and you will see it is stacked with PFs. What do we need? PF and PG. We could get a pf and sign a pg. Plus if we get the #2 pick there is no doubt Morey will pick Durant because he is such a statistics guy but it probs won't happen because the T-Mac of Orlando is back.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao gettin hurt is NEVER a good thing. </div> Did you even read his post? Johnny33 discussed that its a good thing he's injured around this time instead of later on, when there will be more games he'll be missing.
Man Yao was in serious pain. As soon as he went down, he was actually screaming in pain to where you could hear him yell even on TV. A bruised bone was the best thing you could ask for because it could've gotten worse. I don't think its that severe. If he can heal it fast enough, he'll be ready. It won't affect him that much. Its not that severe, but he was in a lot of pain at that time. When the 6 weeks are over, he'll be normal playing like he used to. It wont bother him much. <div class="quote_poster">tinyballer Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Everyone CHILL. If Rockets can win 12-13 games while Yao is gone like you said then we must look on ahead to the playoffs instead of thinking about the draft. Forget the draft for now. We don't want to jump to the conclusion and start thinking about draft right now, thats not our focus right now, we want to make playoffs and go for the title. If Tmac can atleast lead us to 12-13 games like you said, then we're still in the playoff picture. So lets not focus on draft just yet, lets look ahead to playoffs, because we want to make the playoffs. Our season isn't over yet, we still got a lot of games. With Yao back in about 6 weeks and w/ Tmac back, Rockets are gonna be soaring. But they need to stay healthy. And like johny33 said, its a good thing he got injured now because he won't miss many games now, also the break gives Tmac's back a little rest for the Indy game too. So I am not that worried, we still have a bunch of games till playoffs. We still have a good chance, so lets not think our season is over just yet, because Rockets are going to make the playoffs. GO ROCKETS! This is the schedule of our next 19 games (6 weeks) till Yao is out: Tue 26 @ Indiana - Win Wed 27 @ New Jersey - Loss Fri 29 vs Atlanta - Win Sun 31 vs Memphis - Win Wed 03 vs Seattle - Win Fri 05 vs Utah - Loss Sun 07 @ Minnesota - win Mon 08 @ Chicago - Loss Wed 10 vs LA Lakers - Loss Fri 12 @ Denver - Loss Sat 13 @ Sacramento - Win Tue 16 @ Dallas - Loss Wed 17 vs Phoenix - Loss Sat 20 vs Denver - Win Wed 24 @ San Antonio - Loss Fri 26 vs Portland - Win Mon 29 vs Philadelphia - Win Wed 31 vs Seattle - Win Sat 03 vs New Orleans - Win The Rockets can possibly go 10-9 while Yao is out. That will make their record 26-20. We can stay at 3rd place in the division and still stay alive in the playoff picture. But with Yao back and healthy and lets hope Tmac's back dont mess up again and he remains healthy, I see the Rockets climbing up in the playoffs seeding.

YAO GETTIN HURT IS NEVER A GOOD THING. Regardless if it's early or late in the season. Not to bring up old news, but if we'd actually pursued an PF/C instead of bein cheap and playin Chuck Hayes we'd be in a better situation. That's the bad part of playin an undersized center. Now we're stuck.
