<font size=""2"">Artest For Maggette All Over Again?</font> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Los Angeles Times - A high-ranking source within the Clippers organization told the Los Angeles Times on Saturday that the club was discussing a deal with the Kings for Ron Artest. The Clippers attempted to acquire Artest last season when he sought a deal out of Indiana. This season, he apparently wants out of Sacramento. Similar to the situation last season, the Clippers would send Corey Maggette in exchange for Artest. The two teams held discussions on Friday and they are expected to resume on Sunday.</div> http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/438...all_over_again/ If this deal goes down, Clippers will get the better out of it. Artest could really help out Clippers.

If Artest couldn't even stay happy with the Sacramento Kings after one season, how's he going to stay happy with the Clippers? If anything, Artest will just become a distraction. But I guess it wouldn't really matter since the Clippers are going nowhere this season, and this is Artest's last year on his contract
I don't want Artest, and it's not because of off court problems, but because of on court problems. He wants to be a high option on offense, and it's not beneficial for the team if he is. On the Clippers he definately can't be a high option, and he won't be happy, so it's okay.
Artest might bring some much needed intensity to the team. Just look what he did with the kings last year.

He starts faking injuries and starts subbing himself out in games. Is this someone you would want on your squad? Artest has proved it again and again that he just isn't worth it. The guy is the Terrell Owens of the NBA.
you're right there. he might help them late season or in the playoffs but there is a 99% chance he'll blow up or get mad about something stupid in the next year. i just wish he'd use his brain more cuz he's a great player that makes way too many idiotic mistakes imo.
I don't see how this trade helps either team. Swapping two disgruntled players for one another doesn't solve any problems. If Artest is upset about not being featured more in the offense, I don't think he's going to be excited about becoming the 3rd option in Clipperland. You just never know what to expect with Artest, and for a team with shakey chemistry, Artest could end up costing the Clippers their season, and also watch him walk away when he opts out for nothing in return. The Clippers are in need of shooting help more than anything. They were last in 3point shooting percentage. Poor outside shooting makes it easier for teams to double and triple team Elton Brand.
There were rumors going around that Artest wants to come play for a Los Angeles team only because it will help him sell his CD. And yes, these are true rumors
