Anybody notice how different VC is? He is no longer playing with heart...well at least that's what it looks like. He just looks unhappy and alone on the court. He no longer revs it up, and his behavior is drawing comparisons with his last year with the Raptors.

He's supposed to step up. What is he getting paid all those millions for? He is a superstar and he needs to start liking it again.

Coach Frank was speechless when asked about Carter's poor play in the first half, against the Bucks. I was speechless as well.

I'm just sharing my thoughts on the situation.

I agree. I was think about this the other day. Vince isn't playing like he was at the beginning of the year. It looks as if he is gonna just give up and let the team suffer as long as his stats look good, but he isn't doing that either. I watched some of the Nets' games on ESPN and FSN and all he does now is pass the ball and he isn't doing sh!t himself. He either want the bench to look good or he has gotten lazy.

Sometimes I wish he could play like a Kobe or an Arenas and give it his all and dominate the game. He does that sometimes and other times he sucks. He is inconsistent. One night he will score 35 and we will win and other nights he score 10-18 and we lose. Vince needs to step up his game if he want to be mentioned as one of the top 10 players in the league or if he wants his team to win.

To be perfectly honest with you I believe Vince Carter is the most talented athlete in the game at this point in time and has been ever since he entered the league. The problem with his is he only cares bout himself and has never been a warrior. He can't play D and he never has been a die for the game guy like Iverson. He has alwayz been just a showy scorer. Get used to it this is the True Vince Carter. Trade Time?

Carter Slump Comes at the Wrong Time

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Just when the Nets needed him most, to end their losing ways, to compensate for the loss of Nenad Krstic, Vince Carter has supplied the least. Over the past four games, he is shooting at the lowest level of the season. With the exception of his 38-point effort against the Cavs, Carter has looked decidely average. The perennial all-Star says its only a slump, nothing more.</div>

Well he better get it together.

Sometimes a player has a slow start, didn't Melo have a really slow start for the first few months of last year?

The problem with Vince this year is that he has his good games and he has his bad games. He has been playing inconsistent, but this last week and this week have been horrible for him besides the game against the Cavs and Lakers, even though we lost that one.

Well, if he's only had a bad 2 weeks, then it doesn't seem to be too much of a problem compared to how say Ben Wallace struggled for the first 1 1/2 months.

Ben Wallace is in a different situation. He is on a new team and has to fit in to his role which is different then the one he had in Detroit.

On the other hand, Vince Carter has player for the Nets for almost two seasons and needs to step up.

You're right, Vince doesn't have the look of a happy man of late and it's rubbed off on Jason a bit too I think.

Statistically Vince seems to be pulling his weight with a better year than last year.

Vince is averaging 2.1 more ppg (26.3 ppg), on 2.9% higher FG% (45.9%), 2.4% higher 3pt FG% (36.5%), and .44 less TOpg (2.26 TOpg) while still putting up good rebounding numbers for a guard at 6 rpg, and 3.7 apg (down .4, but this year they have Eddie House and Marcus Williams).

For the most part I wasn't talking about his numbers. I'm mostly referring to how he looks on the court. Like I said before, he looks unhappy and lonely. His heart just doesn't seem to be in the game.
