Bibby on trade: "I'd probably be a little upset" <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The odds of Mike Bibby and Ron Artest being in the same uniform appear to be long. There have been reports about Artest for Corey Maggette trade discussions taking place and Bibby's name was believed to be involved in the Allen Iverson talks. "I'd probably be a little upset (if he was traded)," he said. "(Sacramento) is close to home (in the Phoenix area). I've been here for a while. I like playing here, so I'd probably be upset." Eric Musselman spoke with Bibby about their offense and they decided to open things up similarly to how they were when Rick Adelman was the head coach. "We've tried to do everything we can," Musselman said. "We get the ball in his hands, we added the corner series after he and I had a conversation. ... We feel he'll have a breakout game, and that will carry over."</div> Source Something tells me that Artest is going to be the player the Kings deal but Bibby's quote seems kinda strange to me. "I'd probably be a little upset" doesn't sound very convincing to me.
If he goes to a championship contending team, I doubt he'll be upset. The success will soon change his bad feelings.
Is Artest even anywhere near shooting 40 percent from the field? So we'll lose Artest and receive a player who is more offensively geared than defensively. Maggette also has no problem being a complimentary scorer, as opposed to Artest believing he is the #1 option. Id agree with Artest if he was constantly pounding the ball inside but instead he taking shots from the perimeter and hes one of the worst at it. Receiving Maggette will only help us at this point. *Edit* oops wrong thread...this can be moved.

I understand Bibby is having a horrible year shooting the ball so far. However, we all know Bibby can shoot the lights out and that he'll come around sooner or later. Artest however is a different story and thats the point i was making.
I don't know, personally I feel the Kings are selling themselves short by trading Artest. I like both Artest and Maggette, but Corey is not even close to the defender Artest is, but still takes plenty of bad shots. Corey Maggette is the definition of a ballhog. Once he gets the ball, he does not pass it. I respect how he goes to the rim and makes free throws, but when he doesn't get the benefit of the whistle, you just have to scratch your head on his though process. Artest is just one of those people who speak their mind without thinking and wear their emotions on their sleeves. His antics get annoying, but when he's on the court the guy gives you all he's got on both ends. Having a two-way weapon is a rare commodity in the league these days.
Having Artest on your team has many good and many bad sides. Man, I wonder how many teams would want him if he would be a stronger character. Lock Down D, passion and will. Nice range. Strong and a hustler...
