    Rockets-Pacers preview

Sorry for the lack of a decent preview today. Really busy. If someone else can add more to it, feel free.

Four days of workouts without any discomfort? Bring him on! What great timing.

The Rockets will need Deke and Hayes to stay out of foul trouble. Stephen Jackson, Jermaine O'Neal and Al Harrington all can play with their backs to the basket, so the Rockets will need to guard the post well tonight. Hopefully Bonzi and Juwan Howard can pick up some of the scoring slack that Yao's absence creates.

All I want for Xmas is a healthy, quick recovery for Yao and a new back for T-Mac.

Matt Jackson (from 610am) reported that McGrady will start tonight. Hopefully all goes well.

Jermaine O'Neal is questionable for tonight's game as said on ESPN. He might be out with a flu. If he's out we might be able to win this thing. GO ROCKETS!

T-Mac is gonna play tonight which is good news and bad news. Good news because he feels ready to play. Bad news cause he might hurt his back even more.

    That's very funny.

Why not sit him forever? Hey, he'll never worsen his back injury. I think it's pretty clear that TMac has taken his time on this, and the fact that he's been working out for four consecutive days without any pain should signal that he's ready to go again. We're not taking any chances here.

my gosh, indiana is on a 14-0 run. That's a BS technical for mutombo, he was just waving his finger like usual after blocking a shot.

Well he played alright, but he didn't play good. 7 turnovers. T-Mac isn't what he used to be but he is still an all-star type of player.

Yea, who wouldn't be rusty after missing 7 games?

McGrady was bad. Particularly in the fourth quarter.

    Inside the numbers
76 — Rockets points, the Rockets' fewest and the fewest the Pacers have allowed this season.

10 — Shane Battier rebounds, a season high.

13 — Pacers steals, one shy of their most and the most an opponent has had against the Rockets this season.

1 — Field goal for Luther Head. It pushed his franchise record to 27 consecutive games with a 3-pointer.

    Last word
The Rockets are 2-6 this season in games without Yao Ming or Tracy McGrady.

    Bullshitin technical on Mutombo!
The guy has been waving that finger hundreds of times for the past 15 season. He didn't get called every single time for it, so why call it now?
Man if Tmac keeps on playing this way, we're not likely to win if someone other than him steps up. I dont know but I just have a feeling that Tmac won't be the same Tmac anymore. The guy averaged about 30 points per game, he was amazing 2-3 years ago, but now he won't be the same with those injuries. I just think he'll stick to 19-20 ppg. He should score more with Yao out and get some of Yao's shot attempts. If Tmac averages 20 points per game while Yao is out and the rest of our guys play like they do, we're not going to win many games. We need someone besides Tmac to step up. The guy frequently goes to the friggin bench holding his back. His back is so fragile that if he takes a hard hit going to basket, he'll get injured. Tmac is at risk of getting injured at again, and if he gets injured with Yao out, Rockets are done for the season. Every drive Tmac takes to the basket, you just have a feeling that he might get hurt. If Battier/Alston can step up and score some of Yao's points we might have a chance

A risky Tmac who might injure his back again + No Yao = Sorry Rockets

We need a quick recovery from Yao. After Tmac got injured all I was hoping for is Yao to not get injured. Tmac has a chronic back problem, the guy might get injured again whenever he wants, he's a player who is always at high risk of getting injured. Yao Ming, not so, he might get injured here and there. I'd rather have a no Tmac Rockets than a no Yao Rockets. Tmac goes to bench like every 10 minutes. And if he keeps on going to the bench that much, and if his back keeps on bothering him, than I'd rather not play Tmac. I'd rather have his ass at home getting his back together. If Tmac's back starts feeling good again and with a quick recovery from Yao, Rockets might be able to get 6 spots or above in the playoffs. But if Tmac is at risk of getting injured like every game and Yao misses a chuck of the games, Rockets might be done for the season. All I am really worrying about right now is a quick recovery from Yao, and a little about Tmac's back.

word, I'm getting to the point where I don't trust him with the ball at crunch time.....he used to be our go to guy down the stretch.

We'll see if T-Mac is still this way after 5 games. Well, that's if he can make it to 5 games.
