The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets standout sprained his ankle when he landed on the foot of Sonics center Johan Petro as the Hornets were in the midst of a fast break late in the first quarter. Paul hopped on one foot, shrieked in pain, and then dropped to the floor as play continued. Paul lay on the floor as the entire Hornets bench cleared and rushed to his side once play was halted. Medical staff then assisted him back on his feet and carried him into the locker room.</div> Source
From my understanding, this isn't as bad as you might think. According to ESPN (heard on SC), he's only supposed to miss 2-4 games, and knowing Paul, that could mean just one game.
Judging from past injuries he has suffered, and come back from, I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss even less than two games. Last season he hurt his hand and was expected to miss several weeks, but only missed I believe two or three games, if that. The Hornets can't catch a break though.
I hope they lose all the games he misses, the less teams challenging out West, the better for my Lakers. Maybe the Hornets can turn the expiring contracts of Desmond Mason and Marc Jackson into a productive injury-free player before the season ends.
OUCH. Without Chris Paul the Hornets are gona lose like all of thier games. The majority of there good players are gone, David West, Bobby Jackson, Peja.

Paul had an MRI on Thursday and has a severely sprained ankle that will take a minimum of four weeks to heal, team spokesman Scott Hall said on Friday. Paul injured the ankle when he stepped on the foot of Seattle's Johan Petro late in the first quarter of a game in Seattle on Tuesday. Paul is the Hornets' leading scorer, averaging 18.4 points. He also leads the team in assists with 9.0 per game. He is the fourth of the Hornets' top six players out with an injury. </div> Source
Man now I don't have Melo or Paul in my fantasy league their goes my second place spot. As far as real life goes, this is going to put the Hornets in a serious whole going into all star break. If their too far out of it come the second half of the year I wouldn't be surprised to see them throw some games to try and pair Paul and Oden.
Didnt show that they were that short handed tonight, they won by ten vs the Denver Nuggets. And dang, most of the major stars are out Yao Ming Dwyane Wade Chris Paul Shaquille Oneal Carmelo Anthony And a helluva lot of others.
