The former Giant CB is now a Dolphin. He received a $12 million deal, including $5 million in guarantees for a roster bonus and signing bonus. Allen can earn another $2 million in incentives

He is faster than Madison whom he'll replace & appears to be an upgrade.

Here are the stats for the last 5 years

    Madison
    tackles-212
    passes def.-53
    INT-10

    Will Allen
    tackles-288
    passes def.-69
    INT-8

^ hehe, good luck. He is possibly one of the worst cornerbacks in the game. He can't catch, he blows coverages constantly, and he trips over himself. His one upside is for his size he can tackle. You wont be saying upgrade when he gets burned for a 70 yard touchdown.

WA can't be any worse than Reggie Howard.

Further, Saban is a secondary coach. I think Nick can get some value for this signing.

Allen can't catch- big deal! If he could he'd be probably be a WR.

You could always count on Madison to get a penalty at the worst possible time which allowed the opponent's drive to continue.

BA do you think that the Dolphins will still draft a corner in the draft like Tye Hill or Jimmy Williams

On a side note, Will Allen is one of the fastest cornerbacks in the NFL, so having that speed is never a bad thing.

Dude, I have been watching him play for what 4 years. It has nothing to do with him no longer being giant but he is horrible. He drops balls that Defensive lineman can catch. CB stats are the most misleading of any other position in the league because most of the tackles he makes is because the WR just ran a route in which allen got beat. Allen gives way too much cushion ( that could be a giants D-Coach thing). He is raw talent, I hope Saban can straighten him up, I had high hopes for him coming out of college.

When you see a CB with a lot of INTs, your either seeing a totally dominant guy(pretty rare, none in the league currently)or a corner whos getting picked on(the 3rd alternative is a guy that picked a lot of defelections)....Im always skeptical when a bad player, like Deltha Oneal, gets 10 picks and makes the pro bowl....how good could he be if he couldnt start in Denver when they were desperarte for CB help? I dont know a lot about Will Allen, but I assume hes got some skills or Saban wouldnt have paid him as much as he did....I know that Saban runs Belichecks defense and DBs that were unwanted go there and excell, so Im not giving Allen the benefit of the doubt, but Im am giving Saban the benefit....

^ the whole thing is this. He was the giants #1 corner last year, he played like he justgot off of the practice squad. Like said he has potential. He is still fairly young but he played like he shouldnt be in the league last year. If he was any good teh Giants would of atleast tried to talk to him to coming back, they didnt want him at all.....

With the FA moves, the phins are in position to draft BPA. J Williams & Huff will be off the board so I doubt it will be DB.

Greenway or Lawson seem probable at this point. Though, The OL could still use help; McNeill or Justice IMO.

And if Saban thought Madison had any gas left in the tank then I can assure you he would still be wearing Aqua & Orange.

In regards to what Beef said, the system Saban & Belichick run relies on multiple looks and pressure from the front 7. In the Johnson/Wanny philosophy, it was the DL & secondary that was empasized.

The Dolphins want to get max pressure from the front 7 like Pittsburgh which is why Capers is such a good hire as DC. The Steelers secondary has been adequate. Adding Polamalu has made them better, yet, their weakness is still the CB's, at least, that is what all the Steeler fans I know tell me.
