that is the real question because of that you gonna know who is th better leader and the best leader is kobe
its 28-5-5 i take that everyday because he is not the point guard of the team that stats are better than Nash 20-11

Nash,that's who.
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Wade is a better defender than Kobe *and I'm wearing a straight face*</div> I'm glad that's only ur opinion, because it's ridiculous. Wade isn't that great of a lock down defender. Kobe has a history of shutting players down. No comaprison
this season, their defenses are comparable. Wade isn't a great defender, but neither is Kobe (atleast right now).
Here is a short comment I copied from another site. Gilbert Arenas was talking about Kobe, Wade, and Lebron. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On Kobe: Truthfully, it's hard to go at somebody who's the best player in the league. That's just like Dominique going at M.J. It's like, 'C'mon now, you know you're not even in his league.' So there's no point. Truthfully, there's no point....It's hard for me sometimes, when I hear LeBron or D-Wade [as] the No. 1 players in this league, and it's like they look past what [Kobe's] done, what A.I.'s done, because they're getting older. At the end of the day, until they're gone, until they're getting dominated, they're still the No. 1 and 2 players in this league.</div> It's pretty clear, most players will say Kobe is the best but the media and those who love the hype, young stars will say Wade & Lebron. About who is a better leader, Nash or Kobe. Nash is a better leader but Kobe is a better player.
Do you have a link, because that quote looks like some sort of made-up crap. Either way, Gil says some weird things, and most of what he said made no logical sense. "It's hard to go at the best player in the league?" Well IF Kobe is the best, Gil apparently did go at him because he dropped 60 on him, same with Wade who thoroughly dominated that match-up. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">At the end of the day, until they're gone, until they're getting dominated, they're still the No. 1 and 2 players in this league.</div> To me, this quote is saying that they are the best in the league due to their past accomplishments, which does not apply to what we are debating. If we were discussing which player in the league today was the best all-time, then it would be relevant. However, we are discussing who the best player in the league is at this moment, past accomplishments aside.
Kobe is still the best player "at the moment." I believe that quote was from the Washington Post from a couple of days ago. Gilbert might say some strange things, but he's one of many players who consider Kobe Bryant the best player in the game today, and no one else is in his same league, not Wade, not LeBron, not TMac, not anyone. Luol Deng also recently coined Kobe as the best player in the game. THEDREAM how can you consider Wade a better defender than Kobe Bryant? I know you aren't a Kobe fan, but Wade isn't even half the defender Kobe is. Wade doesn't even guard the opposing teams best defender on the court.
Trevor Ariza is the best player to grace the hardwood now and he will continue to be the best player forever.

<div class="quote_poster">durvasa Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Would Kobe guard the opposing team's best player if he had Dorrell Wright/Posey/Payton next to him and Alonzo Mourning protecting the basket?</div> Absolutely, he might not be forced to defend the best player for the same duration, but when the Lakers need a stop, Kobe would be the #1 option to defend the hot player. He's been doing his entire career even when the Lakers had Gary Payton, Rick Fox, Eddie Jones, and Gump.
I'm not saying Kobe isn't the best in the game, but to say guys like Wade, Lebron and Gil aren't "in his league" is going a little far. The "title" for best in the league is pretty damn close between those 4 (and maybe Nash and KG), but I give the edge to Wade for a variety of reasons already mentioned compounded with the fact that he's my favourite player. Shape, Wade doesn't usually guard the other team's best players (sometimes he does) because they have Payton and Posey who are both very capable defenders. Therefore, Riley has the luxury of giving his only offensive threat a bit of a "rest" on D. Also, we have seen time and time again that Wade is one of the best at help defense and getting weak-side steals and blocks as well as playing the passing lanes. Being a lock-down man-to-man defender isn't the only aspect of good defense. A good "team" and help defender is just as important, as shown by all of Ben Wallace's DPOY awards (despite not being a great man-to-man post defender). We have seen through Durvasa's stats that the Lakers defense does not improve at all when Kobe is on the court as opposed to off. Not sure about Wade though. I'm sure Jackson would love to have Kobe not guard the other team's star every game, thus giving him more energy for offense. However, Walton and Parker are not capable wing defenders like Payton, Posey and Wright, so this is not possible.

When Miami needs a stop who are they going to ask? Certainly not Wade. I've seen too many clips of Wade getting torched on D by people like Iverson, Kobe even..check YouTube. I'll see if I can get a link.

Pat Riley has criticized Wade on numerous occassions about his effort and decisions on defense. He's put the challenge out their for Wade to become a better defender, so far Wade hasn't stepped up to it. Wade plays a lot of free safety in the Miami defense, which allows him to cheat on plays and gamble from the weakside. In some matchups Riley will have Wade guarding the opposing teams 4th option on the floor so Wade can roam around. Wade's quickness and wingspan allow him to cover a lot of court in short amount of time. He's really good at rotating around the court, but he's not given a lot of sole responsibility on the defensive end either. The on/off court of Kobe's defense can also indicate, the Lakers subs are just as equally effective on defense. It doesn't make Kobe a worse defender that the people who sub in for him can also get the job done. Kobe is the better defender and better overall scorer.

People like you who love young star, the hype, the "cool" commercial, the "cool personality" of wade/lebron, will say it's them. As far as guarding the best opposition swing players, even back when the lakers had Gary Payton, Devean George, Fisher, the guy who guards the hot player in the end is still Kobe. Like I said before, all you need to do is go to nba.com, buy Lakers' tapes and watch Kobe. lol
You want to know who is the best player in the NBA?? Ask the NBA players who actually play the game... When Gilbert Arenas, Luol Deng, Dirk Nowitzki says it is Kobe Bryants, Can you as a spectator disagree with that?? You don't even play the game...
