in regards of the whole shaq deal, im not sure where i stand. i'm a HUGE shaq fan and seeing an all-star game without him just seems weird to me. on the other hand, so far this season he has only played in 4 games, so does he really deserve it? as hard as it is for me to admit, i dont think that he should play. yet, im still voting for him (and dwight). im voting for each other every other day.

Shaq has barely played any games while Dwight Howard is improving so much to where he's dunking on people like crazy. Fans are really being ignorant here. They need to start voting for people who deserve it instead of people who haven't played any games, but again its there choice. And the only way we can change the votes is voting ourselves. So lets start voting for Dwight!

Shaq is going either way, Pat Riley is the coach of the East [IMG]. I hope VC actually gets minutes this year, because last year SVG barely played him. I wanna see Wade Arenas and VC in at the same time, should be a great game once again.

That doesn't really mean anything, the coaches vote is every coach in the league meaning even if Riley votes for Shaq and no other coach does Shaq won't be in. I also may be mistaken, but I don't think a coach is allowed to vote for his own player. With that said Shaq will probably start for what he has achieved thus far in his career. I doubt he is ready to play by then however.

it's like the legend team man, these 5 players have consistently been in the top 7, 8 in the nba for the last 10 years

^ So Yao has been playing really good for the last 10 years?
I dont think it should be about the legend team, even if it was, it'd be real unfair to players who are playing outstanding that year i.e: Dwight Howard, Deron Williams.

I see what you're saying but the All-Star game should be about honoring the top performers this season. This is the exact reason I'm disgusted that an injured Shaq is starting over Dwight Howard.

Back in 2003, you might've had a point.

Tell me which centre in the West (in the league for that fact) is playing better than Yao?

first off, Yao is the best center in the league up to date this year.
second, why do people still complain about this? all star voting has ALWAYS been about popularity, it is just blown out of proportion with Yao because of the immense # of chinese fans. I see it as being good for the NBA and the game of basketball. Are you telling me you've never submitted a bias vote (like/dislike, fav player, etc)? Thanks, go home.

The east with the exception of Shaquille O'Neal, have the future of the NBA (James, Wade, Arenas, Howard), while the west has the present/past (KG, Duncan, Mcgrady, Kobe, AI).

    Small Line-ups in the game:

    Nash
    AI
    'Melo
    Kobe
    T-Mac

    vs.

    Kidd
    Wade
    LeBron
    Arenas
    Carter

West has the experience advantage (and many others. . .) but these NEED to be played, this would be the most exciting exchange between teams. And you match them up rivalry-wise. Nash/Kidd, AI/Wade (not much here), 'Melo/LeBron, Kobe/Arenas, T-Mac/Carter.

It's hard to vote for T-Mac. I don't want him to play, but what's an ASG without him. Especially if AI, Kobe, and him are all on the same team. Damn. That's a good team.

I think Nash, Kobe, KG, TD, Yao is unstoppable relative to anything the East can put up.

Nash and Kobe are dangerous left open from 3, KG, TD, and Yao can all set picks for each other and either cut to the basket and dunk it or rotate out to the perimeter for a deep 2.

Like most others, id like to see some of the young(er) players play, as well as the older. Id love to see Wade, Lebron, Kobe, Melo, and Arenas in the same game, but thats a serious stretch.

How-so? Wade, LeBron, Kobe are locks. Melo is having an MVP year, and Arenas is probably the MVP of the East. If any of them don't start, they'll be on the squad.

Howard has been just as good as Boozer this year.

Haha, Iverson is in the East now. Although Nash has played better this season, Iverson is a better All-Star Game player.

I like East more without Ive now, too. When I just hoped that Gil will star as a guard, VC takes his place...

This year, I even don't know at what team I will be cheering for. East has so great starters I like: Agent Zero, King James, CB4 D12. I like all of them. Pierce is in East, too. Isn't he ?

Kobe is equal with 3 players from the East for me anyway. ;D
