<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">There's not a Mavericks fan who hasn't wondered what the Mavericks would have accomplished the last two seasons if they had still had Nash, who has won consecutive MVP awards.

Devin Harris has an interesting take on the hypothetical issue.

"I don't know, I might not have been here," he said. Harris was acquired along with Stackhouse before Nash was allowed to walk in free agency. But the wheels already were in motion, he said.

"He would have been a good guy to learn from," Harris said. "There's no doubt we would have still been great.

"But you know, if we'd have spent the money there, then that's less money somewhere else. We ain't the Yankees." </div>

It's very difficult to play the "what if?" game on such isssues, but I believe that -as stupid as it may sound perhaps- the Mavs needed 'something' to take the next step. And adding some other key elements after Nash was gone, did it for the Mavs IMO even though they lost of course an outstanding player on this position. But I think they also did a pretty good job acquiring a bunch of new players which was very important, too.
