Melo: "Pick Your Poison" <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A game or two of cards. Maybe a movie. Then, the Nuggets game on the tube. Forget the fast lane. Carmelo Anthony's life has slowed to a routine crawl as he sits out a 15-game suspension in his Denver home. Yet the NBA's leading scorer already is focused on his first game with Allen Iverson, who led the Nuggets against the Seattle Supersonics on Thursday night at the Pepsi Center. As Anthony stretches out in front of the Sony, his thoughts also drift to endgame options. With a game on the line, as the clock ticks down, will the ball go to Anthony, who has made eight wining baskets in the final 10 seconds of a game, and cut a Nike commercial based on his clutch play, or to Iverson, a seven-time All-Star who has buried too many opponents to count? Pick your poison, Anthony says. "From my standpoint, it looks like it's not going to be too hard," he said. "It's going to be easy because what are you going to do? You going to double me? Or you going to double him? You going to play it straight up? "It's kind of a win-win situation for us. It's just all about executing down the stretch." The prospect of defending Anthony and Iverson - they are the NBA's Nos. 1 and 2 scorers - is daunting enough during the first quarter, much less the final minutes. </div> Source
If Iverson really wants to win a championship then he wouldn't argue with Melo about being the first option.

I don't mean to be sour but personally I don't believe this combo will lead to so much. Perhaps the farest the Nuggets will go is the second round or the WCF. I really can't see them going further than that. However, we will have to wait and see on how it all folds out.
I agree with Laker fan - AI and Carmelo - - so WHAT? Only one guy can score on each play. I think this will be a bust. No way they make it to the WCF because I don't believe they can beat any of these teams over 7 games: Suns Mavs Spurs Utah

Of course only one of them can score, but the point is more that a good team, especially two outstanding scorers, makes it a lot of tougher to defend for the other team. But only if they're moving the ball well and play together as a team which remains to be seen.
when youve got 2 players both avg. 30 points a game playing with each other its going to be a good game... and it will deff. get them out of their losing streek
