In advance, sorry for the bump. I never saw this thread... <div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I get a free pound of coffee, a week.</div> That's pretty huge, especially at Starbucks. I get my Sumatra for $7.99 and that isn't even a pound. I work at Fred Meyer. Push carts, help customers out to their cars, etc. Far from glamorous, but it's right across the street from my high school and I could walk there from my house if I needed to.
<div class="quote_poster">Sasha Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I just quit Sprint. Put in my resume at the T-Mobile call center though. It looks good.</div> You really like working with phones, dont you.
<div class="quote_poster">Sasha Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">It's good money and it's very, very easy.</div> i use to work with phones for about 2 years with nextel and then cingular.. it was amazing money and yes very very very easy. if anybody is thinking about a career in this field i advise u not to go in this direction...the money has already been made and the market is devoured.
Yeah, it's a huge market and there is a lot of competition. I work in the south's largest mall (or so they tell us), and there's a cell phone store/kiosk at every turn. It's good money for right now, but to have it long term and support a family or even yourself on it for years on end is dumb. There are better jobs with a whole lot more opportunity out there, so yeah I agree with that.
Starbucks treats their employees great. I get free drinks a half hour before, all throughout, and a half hour after my shift. I get a 30% discount, and a free pound of coffee every week. During the holidays and such, the discount goes up to 40%. After a year with the company, benefits kick in and they'll even pay a good portion of school.
