Praise the Lord. Im really glad the Kings stomped on the Warriors tonight. I understand the W's have alot of good players and are capable of playing well, but it seems to me like whenever they play the Kings its like all Gstates players go completely insane and have career games. So, let tonight be a lesson to ya By the way it is indeed a rivalry, no matter what some silly little laker fan says.

But how old is this guy again? He's got to be older than Calbert Cheaney or something.

I would still say he is more mobile and certainly play better D than Cheaney. I think both guys offensively suck. Calbert good mid range game, Christie more range when on and can finish at the rim. But Christie's experience in Sac might mean he would fit in with Nelson. Another idea ... Jim Jackson, also, 36, played with the Suns in their uptempo style and might be a good addition at this point.... give him a second go around. Might add some toughness to the team. perhaps stacey augmon - though he is 38. great defender in his day just retired.

I wonder if there's a public resource to show which players in the world are under contract and which aren't. Like there was no way to tell if Anthony Parker of the Toronto Raptors was available before this season started. There's got to be some decently athletic shooting guard that's at least 6'4 out there and that's become a superstar somewhere else. Charlie Bell was a guy like that. Anthony Parker was a guy like that. I don't know the insider stuff regarding who is ready to play nba ball and has no contract right now and that's any young. Who is Luke Jackson signed with, I wonder? And can we get Andre Emmett back or get Dijon Thompson?? I hope they didn't sign contracts elsewhere. Oh, what about Ron Mercer? He any healthy right now? We need a temp player that's good enough to back up our backups.

The versatile Salmons also has replaced starters Martin and Ron Artest at different times this season. ... After the game, Golden State assigned first-round pick Patrick O'Bryant to Bakersfield of the Development League. ... Kelenna Azubuike (U KY) and Denham Brown (U Conn) are the best bets among available Devo league SG's. both are 6-5 and scoring a lot. 6-2 Will Conroy U Wash- is a pretty hot PG in the Devo league. I don't know where Mike Gansey went, but Miami waived him in pre-season. Christie had gone downhill and won't be in game shape. Likely that applies to other retired veterans mentioned. We'd be looking at a 10 day contract type so a devo league guy is logical, they are playing now.
The Warriors actually outscored the Kings in the second half. The 4 Warriors who launched the most were Dunleavy, followed by Barnes,Baron and Pietrus...combined..15 of 55 or a FG% a bit under 30 Ike and McLeod were 13 of 17 combined. Ike had 16 off 8 FGA in 18 min...too bad he didn't play 36 min. Murphy shot poor but tied for team lead in both assists and rebounds. In the 4th with Murphy,Foyle,Ike playing a lot,Sacto managed 17 pts compared to a 37 pt 2nd quarter. The Warriors actually outrebounded Sac by 2,but made fewer FT's and had a miserable 37% FG....up from 33% at the half. Draw your conclusions.
It means guys were getting lazy or soft or they don't have any strategy or skill to play outside of guard isos going to the drive and kick. I mean every team has a second night game and injuries to contend with so it shouldn't be an excuse. But tonight was just the worst game thus far. We played really badly and all of our weaknesses just became exposed like in that other game we had awhile ago. Drive, kickout, Long ball, clunk, burned in transition. Drive, kickout, Long ball, clank, burned in transition. We try to change it up, we lose the ball, and they score on the turnover. The guys who typically shot those threes were guys who couldn't score inside anyway. Baron ain't D-wade when it comes to finishing around the hoop on a bad night like this. Dun, Barnes, Pietrus aren't exactly guys who can slash their way inside on their own and beat heavy resistance. If nobody is worried about the post guy inside and we're not shooting it right, the 3-2 zone alignment is going to punish us every time unless we step in or find the open pockets underneath. But that's assuming we could hit the 18 or 20 footer instead of the 25-27 footer. Bad shooting nights are bad shooting nights and it really sucks when there's no option to get a sure shot going unless we start moving and taking the higher % stuff closer in. But even then we could be missing quite a few clean looking shots if nobody is a sureshot from those midrange areas off the catch or off the dribble drive pullup. I think one skill that has been missing from today's nba players is the all-around shooting game. Yeah it's nice if we make the three, but we need an intermediate ranged game when we can't go all the way to the hoop and when we need to find a way to hit a softer shot than a hard linedrive three point attempt. It's what been missing from our USA Olympic teams as well. Tonight, I definitely wanted to see Ike play more. He knows how to get to the line because he plays very physical. He won't take threes, but he can shoot from midrange at the elbows and he can pound the ball inside. It would have been a high % shot and he could get the And1 for a 3 point play. Plus, when we play bigger, we get more rebounds and we tend to make better stops defensively. If we can't play defense on poor shooting nights like these, we'll be killed by 20 points at the least. We basically lose our only way to keep things respectable. BTW REREM your buttons on your sig don't work!
Also, Murphy rebounding for us would be nice, but I'm convinced that he and Dunleavy are both big fat red bullseyes to the other team's athletic perimeter players to come drive the lane. Hey Quincy Douby, want to make a name for yourself? Drive on these fools! I mean crap. If I'm fast and not worried about contact or anyone big opposing me once I make my move, I'm going right at Dun or Murphy or Dun AND Murphy and making a highlight reel or an easy layup. At least the bigger, harder, shotblocking, intimidating players make it uncomfortable for the smaller bastards to want to drive the lane or go up in the air against them.
What good is a rebound or two extra if the player you're guarding walks his way to the hoop. I am starting to hate watching Murphy with a passsion. He stands in one place on offense and plays no defense. He's like the big white guy that's out there on the pic-up courts that nobody wants on their team

The Nets and Raps found that they could use a small guy to screen off Beans to one side of the lane-then have a big man easily muscle Dunleavy or Barnes. We get scouted-and teams now know they can't let Biedrens use his mobility

As you said, it's definitely than having barnes and Dunleavy at PF.
Sorry bout the buttons Custodian. The panic button was getting punched so much last week it's beyond repair. i had to disconnect 'self -destruct" because instead of trading half the roster for the knicks bench-it tried to re-format my hard drive.

I see Dajuan Wagner (if he's healthy, which may not be the case) and Luke Jackson being probably the best bets to join the team, or possibly some NBDL player. This may be premature but do the Warriors raise the ante for Corey Maggette now? Maybe a deal involving Jason and either Murphy or Dunleavy and Corey Maggette and fillers? I don't know, this should be interesting.
