<div class="quote_poster">AlleyOop Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">It's weird though, because looking at the cup half full, at least JRich will have time now to completely heal that knee. I've been afraid that he's been hindering his recovery by playing hobbled. But now he'll be able to fully rest that knee while his hand heals. Sucks it's his shooting hand though. Hopefully Monta comes back soon. Looks like Ike can start playing PF again, and even POB could back up Beans. Then we can trade Dunleavy for Magette and get it rolling again in time for Jrich to come back strong. /optimism</div> I think I understand what you're saying about the knee, but he was cleared to play with it. Twice now or it may ahve been three times. On top of this, JRich has said he felt great. I doubt it was Rich trying to play through pain situation. OTOH knees are complicated and tricky. It may feel and look good, but it's not 100%. A difficult injury to really know when it's 100% okay to come back. Hope JRich can come back soon. I doubt JRich is a malingerer. It's not like Ike who took six weeks to return from a sprained ankle.
Azibuike is about to be signed. He's a 6-5 g and the #1 scorer in the devo league-improved his % a lot. Ike needs games where he is a 30 min PF...a half dozen of those and all those little "rookie moments" will be memories. Worst case-Dunleavy plays 40 min at PF with McLeod backing both Baron + Pietrus at G. I feel the basketball gods have heard my prayer and we will play real p9ower F's for a few weeks, and if Ike-Murph deliver the goods-we gain for the rest of the year. J Rich's knees may be okay structurally-but he needed to be able to run-train to get back his full speed, hops, and stamina.
Thx REREM, here's the link Link: http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/warriors/index <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Get ready to have a new Warrior in uniform against the Hornets. Golden State is expected to sign 6-5 guard Kelanna Azubuike as early as tonight to bolster its depleted backcourt. Azubuike is the D-league's leading scorer with a 26.2 ppg average for the Fort Worth Flyers. Some more quick hits on Azubuike: He's shooting 51 percent from the field and 49 percent from 3-point range. He's also averaging 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He left Kentucky after his junior year in 2005 and went undrafted. He caught on with the Cavaliers for training camp that fall and played in five preseason games before he was cut. The Rockets signed and waived him this preseason.</div>Game by Game Stats: http://www.nba.com/dleague/playerfile/kele...game_stats.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelenna_Azubuike http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/kelennaazubuike.asp
I'm so glad you brought this up REREM, because damn I was hoping the Warriors would pick up a guy that we need right now and has youth and the ability to break out. We can't do that with guys like Doug Christie or guys too slow to play the nba guard position/too small/weak to play small forward (like Casey Jacobsen or Luke Jackson).
So what's the deal with the D-League? He was a free agent cut by the Rockets -- did he have to petition to get into the D-League, or try out? How do you get in it (not that I want to lol)? And are teams just able to straight up sign anyone who doesn't have a contract? I guess other teams can't pick up POB because he's under contract with GS, but I'm just wondering how it works. Anyway, dude looks like he can score no problem. Hopefully he can defend, pass, and rebound, too!
40" vertical Penetrates Makes FT's Good passer Sounds like somebody the Warriors need. I'm excited to see how he pans out.
How did this guy ever get cut and go undrafted if he's got the offensive game covered at 6'5" and athletic? Maybe he's apathetic and lazy as hell. lol. j/k. or maybe not... I'd be afraid to give this guy money if he's one of those cash in off of one good year type players. Then again how did Dunleavy ever hold a position in the starting rotation for so long when it seemed like every training camp invite deserved the starting spot a lot more. Heck I would have taken Ansu Sesay over the way Dunleavy played since he signed that damn contract. "He'll stop slumping soon just like Murphy and Jrich did when they signed their big deals". my ass! lol Okay Dunleavy played one bad game off the bench recently and had terrible shot selection, but so did others. But the fact he's still here and there is really no good small forward or power forward on this team that can run or be capable glue players that can shoot, makes me sad and wanting to take it out on some player and figure of authority. > C'mon Ike, prove Nelly wrong! C'mon Pietrus don't get brain farts on offense!

I'm excited to see how he pans out.</div> From what I've read and heard about him hes extremely talented but the knocks on him coming out of college were that he wasn't aggressive enough, couldn't shoot well from the outside, and couldn't handle the ball well. I think hes improved on the first two based on the stats and consistency hes shown in the D-League but we still don't know about his handle. Hes got the athleticism and skills to fit in on the W's we just have to see if it will work. If he does pan out to be a decent player I can see him and/or Barnes being re-signed for about half the MLE and Pietrus walking or being S&T'd.
I don't see how he can score 26 a game without an all-around game, including handles. If you look at the box scores it was like 30, 25, 35, 37, 25, 15, 32.... lots of 30+ games as I recall. For a SG, that means you got serious game. Remember the D-League is a lot tougher than college, and he's improved his numbers dramatically. That says something.
