    Nice preview mag.

Though the Grizzlies have more offensive options than the Rockets, they were not utilized and haven't played in the right situation. They(Grizzlies) could have won more games with their depth but was just uninspired to play their best and they lack a true leader. They maybe better from what they've shown these days especially with changes in coaching staffs but they're still in adjustment stage.

Too bad Bonzi might not be able to play at all against his former team. I hope TMac continues to perform well. He should be able to make his FTs this time because he will be fouled a lot tonight. As for Juwan, Deke and Hayes keep the Grizzlies big men from dominating. The Grizzlies frontcourt lineups reminds me of the ones that the Pacers has in which the Rockets were clearly dominated. Playing at home will be a big advantage. I say this one will just be a moderate scoring game between 90-105 points.

Man I was watching the Grizz/Raptors game last night, and Mike Miller was killing it. The Rockets will need to get back on the break, or Mike Miller will kill ya. Last night, the Raptors surged ahead and led by one, then Miller made two quick threes on the break. The game was iced. Stromile Swift also woke up last night, hopefully he'll be back down. The Grizz should be wearing off their energy from a new coach tonight.

^ Dont worry, we have Shane Battier [IMG]

Battier with yet another tough assignment today. Chuck Hayes/Mutombo whoever will guard Gasol will need to bring their defense out today. Man if Tmac can play like he did last game, this might be a blowout. Go Rockets!

Good work on the preview Mag.

Happy New Years Rockets fans, hopefully we can win this one and go 19-12.
We are one game behind LAL, while DEN is quickly catching up to us. Looks like the only way we are getting home seed is if we have more wins than Utah, but since they are division leaders they will get 3rd seed while we have 6th, but more wins = home court.

Alston & Head 2/6 at the free-throw line in the last 30 seconds fail to put the game away but the Rox hold on for a 111-109 win.

38 for T-Mac who seems to have recovered his shooting touch - I'm just happy he's able to finish games right now. May it continue into the new year and rest of the season.

Now I have to say Juwan Howard is better than Chuck Hayes!!
Great game by Juwan Howard and it looks like Tmac is finally getting in his rhythm back. We may not have played our best defense letting Grizzlies get 109 points, but hey, I'll take any kind of win.

How many fouls did Juwan have?

But Juwan is good at avoiding fouls. I particularly liked that maneuver with a little over a minute left where he just let Gasol drive straight past him and get a layup without bothering to contest the shot. Chuck needs to learn that move. [IMG]

Anyways, great game by Juwan, McGrady, and Luther. Good thing they had it going, because Memphis was red hot.

Heh, I remember that move. My dad and I were both shouting what the hell! Anyways besides JHo's defence, hes been playing pretty well. Looks like him trying to fix his jump shot really payed off.

    Yeah Houston won 111-109 !
I'm so glad that McGrady put up his season-high 38 points, he also got 8 rebounds. BTW: His averages ain't so bad. Okay, only 19 points a game. But he also has 5 assists and 6 rebounds or something per game.

Weird, three Memphis bench players scored 10+ points and only 1 starter (Gasol) got over 10 points.

Mutombo is still a monster ! 4 blocks, 11 rebounds (7 offensive rebounds).
Juwan had a solid game, too.

    19-12 is a goooood record.

Actually, Howard had some nice defensive plays on Gasol. Even stripped him. Gasol tortured Hayes[IMG]

Actually, both Juwan and Chuck fouled out. lol I found it really funny how Chuck acts pissed whenever he fouls out when it is actually expected of him already. haha [IMG]

    Selective memory there, Rock4life.

BTW, you're use of the emoticons is bizarre. Do you just randomly pick one as you're typing?

No, it's more than that. Gasol gave Chuck fits all nite. I purposley watched how they played Gasol, and Chuck was off balance quite a bit (how he got his 6th foul). Gasol size and quickness was too much of Hayes. Gasol didn't slow down until Howard got on him.

Juwan can give you a solid 10 ppg a game with starter minutes, but we lose so much in other things. So many bad things about Juwan that Chuck has

    Juwan Pros:
    scorer
    veteran leader
    professioanl attitude

    Juwan Cons:
    huge contract
    inconsistent scorer
    inconsistent rebounder
    old

With yao ming, juwan won't get the touches he does now. Chuck has an impact on almost every play through hustle. You will never see Juwan dive for a ball because he might break a hip.

TMac's time to get his game going is NOW.

I think Yao's rise, as great as it was contributed to TMac's woes early in the season.

First because he is not a pure shooter, and scoring oppurtunities for him go down with Yao dominating the ball in the post.
Thats why TMac's stats look good for a PG, because thats what he was playing with Yao in there.

With Yao I still Think it has to be TMac in the 4th because they get away with murder on Yao in the post.

Anybody ever heard the RED ROWDIES chant "WE LOVE HEAD"

More shots for this guy please. I've been calling for it all year. That Rookie wall was last year.

Run TMac at PG with L.Head Shane Hayes and Yao starting. IT should have been that early in the year.

Bad things? Chuck Hayes is a REBOUNDER. So when Howard scores more points and outrebounds him then what else are we lookin at? Howard's defense has been good, as of last game when he did a better job on Gasol. Howard is the better player, and the more you actually look at them the more it's obvious.
