I think it's a good signing by the Raiders. Aaron Brooks can still be a force in the NFL if you surround him with a good offensive line and let him run around a little bit to buy himself some time, allowing the recievers more time to get open. I can see Brooks and Moss becoming a pretty good tandom next season.

I think 4 million per year is way over paying for Brooks. I rank him well below Griese, Kitna and McCown. He's more along the lines of a Harrington, Garcia or Collins. Two million per year tops. Seems like an act of desperation.

Does this put the Raiders out of the Vince Young sweepstakes?

Below 2 Current Detroit QB's and about the same as 2 former Lion signal callers - I am so shocked.

Brooks has way more pure talent than Harrington and McCowan. THis is a good fit and it looks like Brooks is the guy until they groom a young QB along whether it's Cutler or Young.

Aaron Brooks was signed so that when they draft their QB, the QB can sit for a year and then let the young QB play next year. They need to do this especially if they draft Vince Young

The great things about lions fans talking smack in the forums is you only have to deal with it in offseason, and maybe first few weeks of season. By then they have lost so much they stop coming.

Doesn't that sound familiar... Too bad we don't have any Bills fans here.

Brooks is good dude they've had horrid situations not to mention the recent tragedy last yr..... they didn't have ' a home field' did u not forget he took the saints to the playoffs? yea i think it'll definately be weird seeing him with black and silver but good fit with moss and porter.... i likey plus i like aaron brooks good talent with mobilitiy and arm strength...... by no means does this warrant any comparison to the cough "lions".... so step off that please.... kitnas ok but not starter material mckowns unestablished.... garcia? what he had like a few good yrs in SF? and Griese hes been injured way to much and makes to many mistakes...

But should the Raiders draft a QB for the future? If they do draft take in to consederation that he will probly sit on the bench for a year.

image this brooks dropping back(3step drop) throws to a wide open moss. I think that this year your gonna see alot of that. Esapccly if you get a rookie coner lined up against moss. I just hope that porter can be more brought into the spot light he i sway overrated

I think so, yes. But I don't think they necessarily need to take a QB with their first round pick.

I don't think so. Brooks has question marks, so bringing in a young star would be a good thing for them to do. They may, however, want to draft a QB later and focus on the defense in the first round.

They drafted Andrew Walter out of Arizona St last yr. I've heard they are quite high on him.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Al draft Vince young and show Tuiasasopo the door.

Walter and Young would battle this year for the starters job in '07. The loser going elsewhere. Brooks would remain as #2 and acquire some scrub to be #3.

Al Davis went public in saying he likes Vince Young a lot. He's usually pretty straight forward. I've also heard they look at Walter as a backup QB and that's it. Otherwise he would of got some PT at the end of last year.

Yeah I've heard he's even willing to trade up to #2 to get Young, but others in the organization are trying to talk him out of that idea.
