Haywood rolled the ankle during the third quarter of Friday's home win over Orlando. He returned to the game after having the ankle re-taped, but it swelled after the game and was still a problem before tip-off Saturday.

"It's a sprain, but not a really bad sprain like the one Etan has," Haywood said, referring to center Etan Thomas, who has been out since Dec. 9 with a severely sprained left ankle. "I'll get some ice and some rest and it should be okay" by Wednesday night.

The Wizards are 8-1 with Haywood as a starter. Thomas could return sometime next week, according to Coach Eddie Jordan.</div>

Our depth at the center position has been really thin this season, with Jamison being forced to play center last game. We've lost Ruffin, Songalia, Thomas, and recently Haywood and still we've been able to manage.
