<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Washington Wizards? Gilbert Arenas and the Los Angeles Lakers? Kobe Bryant today were named Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Month, respectively, for December, 2006. Arenas averaged a league-best 34.1 points and added 6.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game in leading Washington to a 12-4 record for the month, including a 6-1 mark at home. He scored a career-high 60 points in a 147-141 (OT) win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 17 and poured in 54 points in a 144-139 (OT) win over Phoenix on Dec. 22 that ended the Suns? 15-game winning streak. Arenas registered 30 or more points in 12 of the 16 games played in December including five of the last six. Bryant averaged 30.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists in helping the Lakers to a 10-6 record in December. He scored 58 points and added five rebounds and four assists in a 133-124 (3 OT) loss at Charlotte on Dec. 29 and posted 53 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in a 112-101 (2 OT) win over Houston on Dec. 15. </div> Link Props to both. Arenas has really stepped up his game lately, and it's nice to see him finally gaining the recognition he deserves. Kobe had sort of an "average" month, if you know what I mean. I actually didn't think Kobe did anything too special, except maybe scoring 58 points against the Bobcats, but that game resulted in a loss and Kobe was hogging the ball and blah blah blah. But it's kind of ironic. Kobe is named player of the month, and so is Gilbert Arenas.
I really want to see the next game between the wizards and Lakers, that is going to be a realy intense game, i do not think Areans is going get any where near 60 and i wouldn't be suprised if kobe tries to score more then 60.
Props to both, but I'm with shape. I don't care about their stats, I just want it to translate to wins.
Kobe player of the Month? lol, for what? Like Brian said, his 58 points resulted in a loss. Oh well, way to go Kobez
His 53 resulted in a win though, and in comeback style. The Lakers were down by 21 at one point versus the Rockets and came back to win, in case you forgot.

I just figured the Lakers didn't have a very special month, I believe they were 5-5? I dunno, I just figured there was probably another player on the Western Conference more deserving. But hey, Kobe is always deserving of anything, so Kudos to him.
Does Arenas this year kind of remind of you the Kobe from last year. He has to score big numbers in order to get the W. Just a thought.
