This thread will be to discuss where the Magic are sitting in the standings after each of our games. We were slumping for awhile but after these last two wins, we are the third seed in the East behind the Pistons and Cavaliers. We are tied for most wins in our conference with 19 and we're just one game back from first place. We are also leading our division but the Wizards are right on our tail (they are .5 games back from 1st place in the Southeast Division). I'll be updating this thread throughout the remainder of the season and the title will always have our current standing in it.
Washington, New Jersey, and Chicago all won tonight dropping the Magic three seeds in the East. We are now sitting at the sixth seed but everything is so tight, one game could change the standings drastically. We are also second in our division now because the Wizards won tonight. Let's hope we can beat Charlotte on Friday and stay in the thick of things.
5th after tonight...pistons lose to chicago tonight and cavs lose to the nets and we win tomorrow then we would be in a 3 way tie for number 1 going into the GSW game
<div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Back to 3rd seed. With our win and Detroit's loss, we are now the #2 seed and only 1 game behind Cleveland.
<div class="quote_poster">GatorsowntheNCAA Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Thanks for circling Orlando. I wasn't sure if I was going to find where we stand if it wasn't for that. </div> Number 2 seed! Keep it up Magic. These next three games are big for us. We've been pretty good out West so far this season and we started off the trip on a very positive note. Hopefully we can build from this and keep getting these wins.
The Suns are beating up on the Cavs right now with about 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter so assuming nothing crazy happends in these next three minutes, we're the now only .5 games back for the #1 seed in the East!
We lost tonight against the Lakers so we are still in second place. We are now one game back from the Cavaliers. Hopefully we can win tomorrow night in Phoenix.
After tonight's loss to the Suns, we are now third behind Detroit and Cleveland. Our next game is Wednesday against an injury plagued Hornets team so hopefully we'll get back on track.
Wow, after tonight the Magic are the sixth seed in the East. Washington and Chicago took control of their divisions meaning the Pistons and Magic got bumped out of the top four. Since the Pistons have the better win percentage, they took the fifth seed and Orlando is now sitting at sixth despite having the third most wins in the East.
If Orlando can take the 5th seed, they'll most likely be able to advance on to the second round facing the atlantic division champs. Orlando and Washington do meet again on Friday, with the Wizards having a 0.5 game lead over the Magic with its win over the Knicks on Wednesday.
Oh yeah, that's a good point Will. Maybe the fifth seed is the most attractive one for Eastern Conference teams.
With tonight's win over Cleveland, we have jumped a spot to the fifth seed in the East. Next up we play the league's hottest team, the Dallas Mavericks, but hopefully we can surprise some people and get a nice win streak going.
After last night's horrible loss to the Hawks, we have dropped to the seventh seed in the East. We are 23-21 and just barely above .500%. This is disgusting. It's a shame that every time we start the season off hot we always go into a major slump and disappoint everyone. It's time for Otis to make a move and try to resurrect this season because the current bunch of players we have assembled just isn't cutting it.
