<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It sounds like Phil Jackson plans on starting Andrew Bynum in place of Kwame Brown, bringing Ronny Turiaf off the bench to back him up. "Chances are great that Andrew will start," said Coach Phil Jackson on Tuesday. "He started earlier in the year and did pretty well. I just don't want him to get three fouls in six minutes in the first half." Don't expect any miracles out of Bynum, but look for some solid games mixed in with some disappearing acts. The key, as Jackson said, is for him to stay out of foul trouble so he can be aggressive and stay on the floor.</div> Link Makes sense, considering Bynum played really well as a starter earlier on in the season, when Kwame Brown was also injured. Ronny Turiaf has barely gotten any playing time this season, so for Phil to automatically announce him as starter just doesn't make sense. Ronny will be great for us coming off the bench, and giving us an energy boost
I pretty much figured that he'd be the starter for us with Kwame down. I'm not going to expect too much out of him, I just want him to be solid for us. If he can get us a consistent 10/6 or so, that'd be nice. He just needs to stay out on the court and be mainly used as our defensive prescence on the inside so people don't torch us on the inside.
*Note to Andrew Bynum, Brad Miller is a good shooter from behind the arc. This will be a challenge for Bynum because he's not comfortable defending away from the basket. You can bet the house, Sacramento will run the pick & roll to death in this game, and try to get Bynum caught into making the wrong decision defensively. The rest of his teammates have to be ready to rotate incase Bynum makes a mistake or over extends and allows the guard to blow right by him (like Wade did). I wouldn't be surprised to see the Lakers use more zone until Kwame or Odom return.
I think this will be a match-up nightmare for Bynum. Seeing that Brad is a good shooter, he can easily keep Bynum--a good shot blocker--out of the paint, creating more guard penetration from Bibby, who is just waiting to breakout from his season-long slump. Anyway, it's good to see Bynum getting some minutes and obviously the trust of Phil Jackson. I know some Laker fans were a little disappointed and probably concerned with his rookie year.
I think Bynum should be able to adjust fine to starting. He started at the beginning of the year and he played well. I hope he can pick things up, again.
