Maybe he's just a comic book head? I myself don't like it when they change the story up, I was dissapointed as hell when Charles and them died in X3.
I didn't like the first Spiderman either. The Green Goblin's costume was retarded and they wasted Dafoe's acting ability with cheesy lines and a stupid premise. It felt like they were targeting a much younger audience. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the second one. The storyline was more focused and they did a better job of getting into the character of Peter Parker. I also didn't mind Doc Ock's death, just because of the different dynamics of the movie and comic book industries. With comic books, writers are forced to write really open-ended conclusions so that they can use villains in later issues, but the director didn't face this problem and his death created a much better ending, IMO. This next one looks good, too. I would defend the choice of Eric Foreman for Eddie Brock, just because it seems like the director's using his own interpretation of it. I'm guessing he wants to emphasize the rivalry between Brock and Parker by choosing two actors that look pretty similar. I have no problem with that type of difference, because when directors blindly follow the comic book's storyline, it can be pretty bad too (eg: The Punisher, Spawn). Still, I don't think any of these upcoming movies can touch Batman Begins and the successive remakes that those guys intend to make. They are really going to do that series justice and hopefully let me to forget every one of those previous Batman movies. And yes, this Civil War nonsense is idiotic.

? I must have missed something between him getting evaporated by Jean and his tombstone at the very end.

Cyclops was evaporated. As far as I know he was dead. Professor X was also evaporated but if you watched after the end credits there is a little bit where he is very much alive. Magneto looks like he would get his powers back from the chess piece at the end.

The acting was really poor in X3, and everything happened so fast. 2 minutes into the movie, cylcops dies.

Silver Surfer looks like an upgraded T-1000. Pretty tight preview IMO for a teaser. Surfer going through objects like that I didn't know he could do. It definitely caught my interest. It can't be any worse then the first one. Which I was surprised I didn't like to much after really wanting to see it.
I haven't seen Spiderman 2, but I definitely would have liked it if they stuck to the plot of the show. I totally wanted to see the King Pin, and the insidious 6. (which included Dr. Octopus) From what I saw of Spiderman the show, I don't like the idea of Eric Foreman as Eddie Brock. Brock was supposed to be a big tough arrogant guy, Eric Foreman doesn't seem to fill that role. Eric could better play Carnage's character if he could pull off being crazy. In regards to X-men, I don't want to see main characters die, but I don't mind as much if they go away from the plot.
