Ok, so I just bought a SLVR, because I don't like flip-phones (I may be the last one of a dying breed in that regard ), but wanted to upgrade to something with a camera and MP3. Problem is, I'm technologically impaired. Like, badly. So, could one of you vastly more intelligent and in-touch with the times people explain how I get MP3 stuff on my phone? Where do I download stuff, how do I hook up my phone to the comp, all the idiot basic stuff Any help would be greatly appreciated
Your phone should come with a CD with all the software and stuff, including a USB cable to transfer things from your computer to your phone.

First thing first, return the SLVR. It's a Motorola. It's crap. I hate selling it. I work for Sprint and ever since we got the RAZR, KRZR, SLVR and whatever else other product I have hated myself for selling it to customers. The Motorola brand overall is below industry standards and is recognized for having faulty software, and overall user productivity. It will lag, it will crash, it will give you hell. Return it. No joke. Otherwise, you are going to need to go back to the retailer that sold you the phone and get a USB cable that you were supposed to have gotten already with the box as the others said. You can download music from your respective carriers music store service or you can transfer them from you computer via a USB cable. Most important thing, read the manual. It's there for a reason, it's easy to understand and it will help you a lot.
You can use any mini-usb cable with the SLVR so you can pretty much get them at any electronics store.
Well the fact of the matter is he should've got one free with his phone, so there is no need to go fork out extra money for somthing he should've got in the first place.

I'm really not used to using my phone as anything more than a phone, so really all I want to do is have a few songs as ringtones or whatever, not make the thing my primary sound system. Is it still a p.o.s? I've spoken to people around here who said that they've gotten really good reception, which was a big issue with my old phone.
Theres your first mistake, signing a contract. You're much better off getting prepaid. Contracts will try and screw you over any chance they get.

If it's been under 30 days, you can still exchange it for something better. Who's your provider? Reception should be fine, even though it is an internal antenna but it all really depends on the network it works off of.
I own a SLVR, but I transfer stuff from my computer to my phone the unconventional way. Basically, I use Windows Media Player and synchronize the stuff to my memory card. But it should have come with software and all that other stuff. Do you have the L6 or L7?
