Right, I'm sure. Someone who is okay with black guards but not okay with black front court players...

"When they reach a certain height, my blood starts to boil" - Don "KKK" Nelson</div>

Remember Nelson played white forward (oops is that like black quarterback) in the NBA. Maybe he remembers all the beatings he took against the black forwards in the league. It would explain why Ike remains on the bench and POB is in D-League. Foyle is the token black center. MP is an exception because he can play backcourt. And we first heard this from a Dallas fan (first I heard of that theory anyway). Hmmm...

Hmmm..... well, he traded for Antawn Jamison, started Dany Fortson, signed Eric Dampier from free agency, and dude!! he gave minutes to Popeye Jones.

    C'mon

I wonder if that Dallas thread is in the hall of shame yet. It's simple, if the big man plays nowhere near like a guard like Nelson wants, he'll go for some big stiff that can rebound and pass it out or shoot from outside or something.

If Nelson had guys like Garnett, Charlie V, Lamar Odom, young Donyell Marshall you'd bet he'd make them center or power forward and he'd throw in anybody that can help them out. That's just the kind of player Nelson likes. He doesn't like traditional back to the basket guys, he probably won't like guys like 6'4" Charles Barkley who make it so the game has to have a 5 second back-to-the-basket violation new rule. He probably won't like Elton Brand, he probably won't like Jermaine O'neil except if he's a 240 lb center out West, he probaly won't like Yao Ming, or Shaq.

Nelson wants this whole team to push, which I'm convinced won't work if you don't play defense and you don't match up with the big positions so you can play slow if you need to. I think that's one reason why Nelson has never won a championship or gone deep in the playoffs with his regular season worldbeating teams. I'm also assuming if that we played slow, we'd run something and take better shots. But that probably won't ever happen in warriorland unless we learn to execute better to get open shots we can knock down more times than not. That takes practice.

I understand you're point about Nellie's "small-ball" mentality, but I doubt there's a coach in the league who wouldn't love to have Brand. Nellie included.

Okay then I retract that statement. Nelson would love to have a forward like Elton Brand, but only at center. [IMG]

It's not my theory. Just pointing out that it holds true somewhat and making an argument for it to see where it goes.

Jams is not 6-9, but closer to 6-7. He still got traded after making 6th Man of the Year by Nellie (?). The theory goes it has to be a good big black man. Maybe a guy who isn't as good doesn't give as much trouble to Nellie, i.e. he doesn't give him flack for bossing him around as a star player might.

Dampier sucked even though he got the minutes. Fortson got traded away. Popeye was pretty much done.

Nellie is constantly searching for that big man for his team, but when he has had them he had problems. The two most prominent being Webber and Patrick Ewing.

I suppose we should think Ike is a stud player based on this strange theory. We'll have to see what happens. Right now the Warriors front line needs improvement.
