<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Call it his pregame warmup. While waiting to go on the air, Barkley talked about how the Lakers' Kobe Bryant has been more conscious than ever this season about getting his teammates involved, thinking pass first instead of shoot. "He got mad when I said that [on the air] in the playoffs last year," Barkley said. "All he's doing now is what I said. He can always get his 30, 35 points a night, but the other guys can't get theirs without his help. I think Kobe's changed because it was never his team before last year. Think about it. It was always Shaq [O'Neal's] team. But I think Kobe has grown up a lot and matured." Bryant didn't appreciate Barkley's remarks in the playoffs last year and told him so in a text message to Barkley's cellphone. Barkley said he and Bryant now have a good relationship. Bryant even sent video games to the TNT broadcast crew for the holidays. But he and Barkley still communicate only with text messages. "We never actually talk," Barkley said. Barkley talked plenty on Thursday's telecast. To Kerr, who was home because of back spasms: "Guys never get hurt when they have to go to L.A. or New York. They only get hurt when they have to go to Sacramento. I never missed a game because of back spasms." To 7-foot Andrew Bynum, who was being guarded by 6-7 Kenny Thomas: "Don't hesitate. You've got a midget guarding you." On the prospects of public financing for a new Kings arena: "One of the travesties of sports is when you get poor people to build a rich people's arena." Barkley said he was enjoying being a courtside analyst. "I don't have Ernie and Kenny ignoring me," he said, referring to fellow studio hosts Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith. The TNT personnel had their own scorecard on Barkley's performance: Eight excellent comments, four wild guesses and three moronic statements.</div> Source
Haha that was so funny, kenny and craig were mocking him soo hard during the halftime show. You can see the clip at nba.com
He was rather humorous last night. I loved him continually poking fun at the official saying he could beat him in a race. Am I the only one that thinks he'd get smoked?
I missed the game the other night, but I really wanted to see how Charles would do....from the sounds of it, it seems like he didn't dissapoint....he seems like a pretty "colorful" guy, so I imagine he would be a good commentator.

I absolutely HATE Doug Collins, I've hated him since NBC....I remember when him and Isiah Thomas teamed up with Bob Costas, that crap used to irritate the HELL outta me....I love Bob as a in studio personality, but he was a groupie all on the bulls nuts as a play by play announcer, and Zeke's voice was like nails on a chalkboard, and Collins......well let's just say I see why the guy isn't coaching anymore....his analysis of things are sooooooooo far off the edge sometimes.....less of Doug "I over-analyze things too much, because I failed as a head coach" Collins, and more of Charles "I'm an overweight hall of famer, but I know what the hell I'm talkin about" Barkley......I am out!!!!!
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">.....less of Doug "I over-analyze things too much, because I failed as a head coach" Collins, </div>exacttly - it's like the guy doesn't realize that LESS is MORE when it comes to shooting your mouth. I like commentators with personality - Bill Walton and Jon Barry are great cause they act like themselves not like "commentating machines". Marc Jackson is great too - he broadcasts the Nets games.
seriously who doesn't love Bill Walton???...How can you hate the man???.....The guy is so entertaining with his ridiculous comments. THROW IT DOWN BIG MAN!!!!....THROW IT DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!!!!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bill Walton's Wikipedia:</div><div class="quote_post">Walton also finds it difficult to compliment his son and current Lakers forward, Luke Walton, while calling Lakers games. On one occasion he referred to his son as "that Lakers player".</div> You know you can imagine Bill Walton in the Jay-Z video, Big Pimpin' Bill Walton - "my stamina be enough for Pamela Anderson Lee"
