    Successful Scenario
Due to Orlando, L.A. Clippers, and New Jersey being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Orlando, L.A. Clippers, and New Jersey had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

THE MAGIC WOULD THROW IN ONE OF THEIR SECOND ROUNDERS THIS YEAR AND GIVE IT TO THE CLIPPERS, WHILE THE NETS WOULD GIVE UP THEIR FIRST ROUNDER TO THE CLIPPERS THIS YEAR AND CASH...THIS WOULD BE A GREAT DEAL FOR THE MAGIC, WHILE I DONT THINK THE CLIPPERS WOULD GO FOR IT.

    pg/nelson/arroyo/diener
    sg/carter/dooling/redick
    sf/maggette/ariza
    pf/turkoglu/milicic/augustine
    c/howard/battie

i think that with turk/jameer/vince/and maggz starting, it would open up things for howard down low, and thusfar speed up his progress...turk is tall enough, i mean everyone thought dirk was too skinny for the 4 but hey he's a future hall of famer who rarely plays down low, turk could play it especially in the small east...what do you guys think?

So we give up nothing valuable but Grant Hill and receive Vince Carter and Corey Maggette? Why would anyone other than Orlando do this?

well, the nets are reportedly looking to deal both vince and j-kidd...in this deal they get shaun livingston (young pg, who has loads of potential), tim thomas and cat (3 point shooting threats, which they lack so badly), and an expiring grant hill contract in a loaded free agent summer...put livingston and williams together and it's a scary combination for years to come...the only problem is the clippers who would want more out of the deal, espeacially since they're giving up livingston, but other than that, they give up players who they're desperately trying to get rid of (maggz and cat), and they get another vet PG in j-kidd who could lead a team deep into the playoffs

The clippers have already basically said Livingston isuntouchable and here is another reason why they wouldn't do it; Change in team outlook: -19.5 ppg, -2.0 rpg, and +1.0 apg. Just because it works doesn't mean they will do it.
