**** Florida. They've won one game worth a **** all year, looked like absolute **** against subpar teams like UAB, and they've already lost twice. What's the logic in ranking them third, especially over Kansas? They got lucky in the tournament last season in that they happened to come up with an easy road and every other decent team ****** up. That's the thing about the NCAA Tournament. It's entertaining as ****, but when you get right down to it, it's not an exact science, and it's certainly not the best way to crown the national champs. Ideally, we'd have a multiple-game playoff series, but the logistics of that are just too impractical, and I don't even know if I'd want that to happen from an entertainment point of view. But now as a result, a very undeserving Florida team is riding high in the national spotlight this season. It's carried over, and these undeserving fucks are getting their asses kissed by the national media, despite only having one good game all season, and it was against a very young, inexperienced, and equally overrated team. Okay, so Kansas has the same record, they beat them at a neutral site, and they just blew out Boston College. Yeah, let's rank them under Florida. And UCLA, they've won every single game they've played this season except for a last minute loss against a top ten quality Oregon team. That run of theirs included winning the Maui Invitational, beating Texas A&M, Washington State, Washington, and Michigan (by 37). Let's put Florida over them too. Jesus fucking tapdancing ****! [/endrant] EDIT: Why is c-u-n-t edited in our system but not fucks?
@ rant. Dammit, man, why are you trying to contribute the the jinxing of Bucky? Don't rank us #1! I know I'm probably still being harsh on Kansas, but I see that they're in the top 10 nationally, and feel a partial responsibility to detract from that LOL.
Yo, Schaddy. Those overrated Orangemen stomped Marquette. Lemme know when you've finished editing these, because I want to get these done A.S.A.P., so I can have more time to write the blurbs.

Thanks for tallying these up VC. Pretty interesting breakdown, especially 4 thru 9, those teams are only seperated by a few points.

If not, and you're reading this, can you go ahead and do that, because I'm most likely getting off for the night and didn't want to post them if you already did. (Don't have time for explanations this week. We need to work out a system where we all contribute five or so explanations so we can do that for Mel btw.)
I haven't posted them yet, but I will. I'll do some writeups for them aswell, but it won't be up until late tonight.
Well, timliness is very important on this, and I've got a column in the wings that was supposed to come out on Sunday (thx Schaddy), so I'm gonna go ahead and post these now and shoot a PM to mel.

I'll try and post things closer to Wed from here on out

Alright, why can't I just post these things myself? I've had an article scheduled for Sunday that's been in que for four or five days now, and our rankings will be out of date after today's OSU/Wisconsin. Damn... Shape, you can post these, right?

[/endrant] EDIT: Why is c-u-n-t edited in our system but not fucks? </div> #2 is pretty crazy for our team. I don't think we deserve that ranking either. Truthfully I would put us at 5-7. We haven't really accomplished too much this season, but we did dominate a top team in Ohio State and get the benefit of the doubt from last season to fall into the top 5-7. In our defense though, we are just starting to get fully healthy, that's why we have struggled in the other games. I guess the national media balances out, they just **** on our football team leading up to the national championship game and praise our basketball team, when our football team was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more deserving of the praise. We'll see through the SEC schedule how good the Gators really are. We have played extremely crappy, but we still hung in there against 1 very good team and 1 likely tourney team and had a chance to win, despite playing crappy. Again, the tournament is over. Let it go. We were NOT the undeserving champion. We were the only team that won 6 games in a row. It's not our fault that George Mason was too mighty for Uconn, UNC, or Michigan State. It's not our fault that Georgetown beat Ohio State. We took care of business in the tournament that had the most parity in recent memory, that doesn't mean it was a down year for college basketball, just that everyone was balanced. Wouldn't you rather it be like that or would you like to see the favorites win every single year? Just because the favorites were knocked out early doesn't mean that it was a down year. Would you rather there be a BCS type system? The "best team" won last year. We worked well as a team, even though we weren't as talented as the Duke's and Uconn's of the world. No other team can say they had the balance that we did last season and I believe only us and South Carolina had everyone in their starting 5 average at least 1 assist per turnover. Stop letting your hatred for Florida get in the way of reasonable thinking. Your ranking of 12 is probably just as extreme as ranking Florida #2(but in the opposite way)

Stop letting your hatred for Florida get in the way of reasonable thinking. Your ranking of 12 is probably just as extreme as ranking Florida #2(but in the opposite way)</div> No, the best team did not win last year. I never said that the Gators weren't the national champions. You're putting words in my mouth, but they weren't the best team. There's a huge difference. In the record books, the Gators will always be credited as the '06 national champs, but this is another year. The fact that the Gators won the title last year shouldn't mean much, because while they won it, there were much better teams out there that also returned most of their lineups. I'm not letting my hatred for Florida get in the way of reasonable thinking, and I'm very insulted that you would accuse me of that. Every team I have ranked over Florida is more deserving. There were only four teams that had a two-loss record who I ranked over the Gators: Kansas, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Duke. You can't argue Kansas over Florida - they beat them for God's sake. Duke, I dropped out of my top five from last week all the way to #11 with a last-minute loss to a solid Va Tech team. I didn't think that was so extreme. Notre Dame is a better team, plain and simple. Their only losses on the year are to Butler and Georgetown, while they've beaten the likes of Maryland, Louisville, Alabama, and WVU. Tennessee is a fucking SEC team, so don't accuse me of being biased there either. They had a better resume than the Gators too. Their only losses: Butler and UNC. Quality wins: blowout of Memphis, Oklahoma State, and Texas. Now, if I had the Buckeyes over the Gators, I could see your point, but I'm not that biased, and I'm not that dumb. I even ranked the Gators over Pitt, who I'm really high on, and who shape thought were good enough to rank #5.
