I love the TMNT from the early '90s. Haha, I actually just got my girlfriend recently hooked on the first two (third wasn't that great) cause she'd never seen them as a child. Regardless of that, I still love the movies and I definitely will be going to see this one.

I believe they were called "sais", or something of that sort. I've actually practiced with them before to help coordinate some muscles in my hand and for aesthetic purposes, etc. I almost broke my toe when one fell on my foot (I was younger).

Here is something interesting I found.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is not a bad movie. But it is a bad movie against expectations, and it has a more limited audience enjoyment factor than you might think. If you want to skip all the explanation here is your takeaway: Turtles will be good for families. Turtles will not be good for adults. Turtles also won’t be good for adult fans of the prior version. That’s the verdict, plain and simple.</div>

I must completely disagree with that statement you posted M21. I just got home from the movie and loved it to death. It was by and far the best of the four full length TMNT movies. The CG was simply amazing as well. The rain effects were especially impressive, mainly during the Raphael/Leo fight scene. But, beyond that, the movie rocked. It was rather hilarious and the action sequences were very, very cool.

I've heard the movie was crap, very kiddy. I doubt it can hold water to the first two, maybe the third. I'll check it out, eventually. I'll probably download it.

The movie series in general is aimed towards a younger audience, so it's expected. But, I went with a group of about 14 people last night and every single one of the people I was with loved the movie. And, as I said, I think it's probably the best one out of all of them.

There is a difference between kiddy now and kiddy then. If you grew up with something when you were a kid, ala the first three movies, then you're still going to love them. It's going to be harder to accept a kid movie now than something you grew up watching.

Eh, to each his own I suppose. Personally, I think the first two were more kiddy than this one. The new one, to me, had a little darker of a feeling to it and had quite a bit of action as well. Like I said, I thought it was a very good movie and the best of the three, but that's just my opinion.

lol, TMNT has always been corny (random pizza jokes, slang that was popular at the time, storylines that made no sense, etc.). But that's one of the reasons we all thought it was awesome as kids. I'm still going to see it, just to relive the memories.

When I heard Raphael's new voice work, alone that almost took my entire interest away. I wonder if this will be as bad as that new version series on TV. I'm going to wait for it to come out on DVD.

I'll wait for DVD and then download it, I'm not wasting $13 on this crap. The voice overs are weak.

I'm not going to buy it when it hits DVD, I'll rent it first of course. If it ends up being worth it then I'll pick it up. Would save me money if it isn't worth buying.

I'm supposed to go see it with my work crew today in a couple hours. I think i'm going to pass though because movie ticket prices are outrageous, not because I don't want to see it.

Does no one sneak in to movies anymore? Get someone to open the side door or whatever.

It helps if you know someone that works there too. I've seen a lot of free movies thanks to my AMC friend.

I might see this movie, I don't think there's much else out right now.
